Күн бұрынReviewing the Xiaomi 12 Pro (Global Version), a premium flagship smartphone rivalling Samsung's Galaxy S22 Ultra as one of the best Androids of 2022, including a full camera test, gaming performance and more. I've been using the Xiaomi 12 Pro as my full-time mobile and enjoyed almost every aspect of it, except for one crucial issue.
That camera tech is among the greatest right now, easily rivalling Samsung and Apple smartphones. You can capture attractive, detail packed photos and video at any time of day, albeit with less natural colours than the Pixel 6 Pro and other rivals. You can even shoot the moon, if that's your bag.
Performance is top notch thanks to the Xiaomi 12 Pro's ultra-fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and effective cooling system. Genshin Impact and other games play on top detail settings without a struggle, even for the duration. Unfortunately battery life is the Achilles Heel here. Vs the Pixel 6 Pro and Oppo Find X5 Pro, this phone struggles to last a full day.

I have found with all my xiaomi, they do a battery drain for about 4 weeks after you bought it. Generally, it fixes it's self and the battery last a lot longer

That's generally normal with all Android phones lately due to how Android learns your usage patterns. Both my Poco F3 and Mi11 Lite 5G did the same.

I'm watching this on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S. Currently running Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 enhanced. No major problems so far. Only problem is i get ghost touches while gaming sometimes. Im thinking of upgrading to the Xiaomi 12 Pro. Thanks for the great vid 🔥

This is my first flagship phone since starting to buy my own phones and moving away from my parents and I still love it to this day. The cameras never cease to impress me. I did buy it a bit later on and it was significantly cheaper than its full price, having gotten it on amazon for $620 instead of $1000.

Great review. I've always been a Samsung person and recently went to upgrade from S10 to S22 but couldn't justify the price. I compared the Xiaomi 11t Pro and 12t Pro but I couldn't see much to pay the difference for the 12t Pro. I'm not a gamer and have never played games on my fone so all the issues I've heard of getting hot has never been an issue. I've been using the 11t Pro for a week now and I love it. The charging is amazing and battery life is great, I charge up too 100% in the morning before work and get home at 17.30 and still have 80% battery. My Samsung S10 would be on 30% by time I get home. Very easy to use and set up. My wife got the iPhone 13 and she had issues setting up and transfering data. I guess if your a big gamer then pay the extra for Xiaomi 12t Pro. Decent phones.

Dude. I'm sitting here, 5 months later, and comparing the Xiaomi 11T Pro vs the Xiaomi 12 Pro costs as much as TWO Xiaomi 11T Pros ($350 vs $760). So... I'm not a gamer (I play "Learn chess with Dr. Wolf" lol) but use the phone ALOT for researching, reading, taking photos, recording movies etc. Thanks friend. You made my choice easier. But.. I'm getting both just to compare. But if my experience will be anything like yours - I'm going to stick with the dirt cheap Xiaomi 11T Pro. Thanks! ❤

Believe it or not my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x i purchased in 2017 is still working perfect. The battery only charges to 97% and every now and then 100% but for a phone it's done me proud. I used the XiaomiADB Fastboot tool software to remove all the bloatware so it's not packed with useless crap. The phone battery lasts about 2-3 days with standard use. I like these phones (speaking with experience) I'm here to see if an update is worth it. Maybe not :-) Would you say the 12 is better than the 11?

@@gabbycyber9917 Hello Gabby. It was so long ago when i downloaded the fastboot tool i couldn't tell you where it came from. Maybe a Google search would direct you to it. Failing that if you PM me on my Google email i can send you the tool via "We Transfer Online". 🙂 I ended up buying the Redmi Note 11 Pro and it has no ads or bloatware on because the fastboot app worked with that too.

The thing I hate about miui is how it doesn't let me disable apps, set my spotify playlists as alarms and other little things, don't get me wrong they're still better than oppo and vivo which will bomb you with annoying notifications even if you turn on developer options and the extra features are great to have but all the chinese uis except OnePlus still bug me and idk how much longer is that gonna hold true since OnePlus might also switch to colorOS

You can turn notifications off on Oppo, just like any other Android or you can turn off banners. With MIUI you have to mess around with battery management just to get notifications.

@@sjstu ohh I didn't know that, in miui if you wanna disable stuff you have to turn off miui optimizations which makes the phone buggy

@@AyushGupta-cm7ex yes, the battery optimisation is too aggressive on MIUI. ColorOS isn't as good as OxygenOS but only because the settings aren't logical. It's reliable though. It's all down to personal preference but going through MIUI just to get it working correctly is a chore.

I am using Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro (256GB) for about 15 months. I was an iPhone user. The reason why I bought the Xiaomi was that I needed to change my 2 years old iPhone 8 (which was great BTW). Prior to the iPhone 8 I've used the 6 Plus model for 5 years and it was great for my use. However, even with all these updates (which are actually not that much), sometimes the software is awful. I hate the fact that Xiaomi DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN about the software and that for me is the break point. Don't get me wrong, I am not a hater, I like the Xiaomi in general, but surely I won't be buying another one, especially for the price of 1000$. No way! For that price, I could easily get an iPhone 13 256GB and I don't see how exactly the Xiaomi 12 would beat it. I am not iPhone fan, its just that the iPhone really worked out well for me and I was expecting something good from Xiaomi, but so far, I am a little disappointed.

There's an app that has you covered for accidental edge touches but the price is prohibitive and Xiaomi are awful when it comes to updates. Spending that much you'd expect to keep if for a few years but I would expect IP68 rating at that pricepoint.

Similar here. I've got an Xperia 5 which I have enjoyed but I'm due an upgrade and was going to get the s22 ultra but being in the UK I'm concerned about the exynos chip whereas this xiaomi and the one plus 10 pro have the snapdragon. My main focus would be gaming and watching movies. The 256 GB storage on the xiaomi is great as the 256 variant of the one plus isn't available to me. It's nice having a choice but it's doing my head in.

Does this one come pre-installed with third-party apps? I don't mind when companies bundle their services, but when there are pre-installed third-party apps I just don't like it. I was also hoping for MIUI 13 to fix the problem with notifications, but it didn't.

YT creators get special pre approved phones that have been tested and tweaked to avoid issues. I think MKHBD gave the Pixel 6 Pro as phone of the year but when he got his own one it sucked. It is disappointing that creators can get played as easy as this and really makes me think they are marketing for OEMs rather than helping consumers.

I'm one. Got the S22 Ultra, horrid cell reception, jumping up and down everytime it moved between data 5g and 4g. Calls getting cut off etc. Lots of samsung threads on it. Returned it myself under 14 day return, hence why i ended up on this review!

Thanks for the review. I'll take the S22+ over this any day of the week. Based on my previous Xiaomi experiences, the OTA updates feel extremely erratic. Sometimes they fix and improve stuff and sometimes they break things like camera quality or battery life for no apparent reason and had to issue another update in a few weeks. I don't think they follow Quality Assurance procedures as tightly as the South Koreans.

Sounds like every other brand if you ask me, Samsung does the same, Google, apple, Motorola... They all are hit and miss with ota updates even if they are monthly updates some will make a good phone run bad after an update.

S22 series is good but the performance in the series of phones aren't great at all!. Be it the exynos or the SD. Variants, Overall packages for a general user, software, camera the s22 series will do good! But if you are fully performance Centric, OnePlus/Xiaomi and such brands perform way better, I've got an s21 ultra and it performs like shit😑, heats like hell,

I have a couple of months until I upgrade and I’m stuck between this and the Find X5 Pro. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses and I just cannot decide.

@@sjstu that’s my feeling. I love my X2 Pro and, although the X5 Pro isn’t much of a jump from the X3 Pro, I think 2 gens would warrant it.

@@DavidWW1991 Oppo have now confirmed three major OS updates from X3 onwards. It's a subjective decision of course but that's another plus going for the Oppo X5 Pro.

A lot of you have raved about the google 6 pixel pro camera, but I have the Vivo iqoo 9 pro and it leavesmy pixel 6th 6ro in the dust. with beautiful clear selfies and photo shap images and the zoom is better than what some reviewers give it credit. I have to get used to the fact that reviewers are human and so are often subjective in their assesment or bias toward one device or the other. Although I do hope that most sincerely strive for objectivity which make for the most useful review for the consumer.p
