Does the video livestream into Echo Show? I have been looking around and the Xiaomi website talks about voice control, but it is not clear if the videos can be seen on an Echo device... xiaomi The C400 camera connected to the internet and once the electricity went out, the camera was disabled. The electricity doesn't work anymore. You have to set up again. If you do it now, please get a solution

File bumping to NAS is not supported on C400. C300 is able to save files onto your local NAS.

Thanks for the feedback :) I dont think Xiaomi meant for it to be a NAS operated device. If you are using a NAS, there are better cams you can get to serve the function. Think Xiaomi just wanted a nice easy plug and play for your every day user

Heya :) thank you. So they will be universal. Getting a model from anywhere will work anywhere unlike a cellphone (sometimes). Not sure why 3k only in China though

what do you recommend for minimum memory card for C200/C300? does 64GB enough? or 128GB? as my experience for older camera, I used the 64GB for a week recording.

Heya. Depends on how you set it to be honest. It also uses h265 if I remember which is muuuch better. You can make either work , just depends on how you set the quality etc

Heya I don't see why not. You can log in at any time (provided it's connected) and control the camera to look around. So yea, live anytime so long as he is near a camera that can see him.

I've just bought Mi Camera C200, when I added it into Mi home app and use the surveillance camera function, it said "Free service reminder. New users will get three months' free video recording of events. The service expires on 09/10/2024, after which surveillance videos will no longer be recorded." I wonder that the video can still be recorded in the SD card? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the review. I'm undecided between a eufy and the latest xiaomi c400 (or is there gonna come out a new one soon?) My only doubt is : i already have Mi home app and I don't wanna download another app, and I've heard eufy cam on Apple Homekit has its limitations so you have to use the eufy app anyway. From your tests what do you suggest? is it worth buying the latest xiaomi camera?

I think the pro of getting an Apple HomeKit compatible camera is that you can use your iCloud storage to save the footage. Also if the camera detects movement it can automatically turn on lights, trigger alarms, etc.

Because of the sensors on them (CMOS sensors) it wont make a massive difference but will be noticeable. I prefer C400 purely because of the USB-C aspect

Heya depends on how you store it. If you want to view live, you can view live no issue. But this is not surveillance it's a smart camera (even though they are practically the same). Just make sure it's connected to WiFi you can connect and view any time

You say "they send notification when motion is detected". But I want a series of still images (over a few seconds) to be sent - to email or the xiomi app is fine - after motion is detected. I don't need / want to pay for cloud. This is for checking WHO has entered my room in shared rented house.images must be sent out of device, because after illegal entry the device could be unplugged / sf card or camera destroyed. 😊 if anyone knows the name of the function I require , would be useful. Having problems searching for exactly what I need

Heya, I dont think that is possible. I will have to check. The idea is that when you get the alert you check. But you can get an SD card to record on event only I believe

By the time you get the notification, there should be a video in the cloud.. You do have to pay for that however ($5/month)

I use D-Link CCTV for this purpose. It can send a few frames before and after the event to your email. It can also send to ftp server.

I’m not sure if this is entirely possible with this camera, but I used to do the following method with the app called iSentry for Mac/iOS… One possible solution could be opening a new dropbox account on a new gmail address and have the files automatically be uploaded into your dropbox folder. Then you can set the notifications from your dropbox/Gmail appropriately to notify you as per your needs.

Heya I don't think it's possible. It's not an independent device and needs an interface to execute commands, the interface is over a WiFi connection You could try get Xiaomi surveillance software and see if it works on a USB

Heya. It's more or less the same, you will just get better resolution with the 300. Personally if there is a big price difference I would go with the 200 unless you need better quality images

So I have seen a few people use as a baby monitor. I can't suggest it for this purpose because it was not it's design. It tracks movement not sound. So to make it work in the way you want , you have to keep the speaker communication open so it's constantly feeding sound for monitoring. It's a bypass which works.

Hey If you mean live monitor (like through tablet , phone etc) then yes. You can "stream" as in stream to KZfaq or twitch etc. but there is a live stream available to phone etc (and PC if you use the surveillance app)

Switching between wifi connections is a bit tricky or trial and usually errors. Sometimes i wonder how i ever het reconnected after so many resets and re-pairings and delete / add device. What steps to make as a sure way to switch between wifi connections for the device? I have a c200 and a c400 and both confuse me when i switch networks (either locations or networks)

Hey there is a way but it becomes technical. Most WiFi devices are dynamic in nature meaning their IP addresses will change every time they are turned on and off (most times). You can assign IP addresses and make them static. You can do this in windows or in the router (windows is generally easier)

Heya Not easily. I have tried and failed to pull the footage over IP which is what you would need to do with Debian. Unless you use Xiaomi surveillance (if it work in a Linux system) and you can export imagery to the cloud you want

In the My Home app you can set up a Family and grant them access to one or all conected divices. Me and the wife use it to monitor our children while away and the baby while its sleep alone while im working upstairs. The sound is extrodinary good.

Great question. So the units that were flown into South Africa had no batteries. But other regions have batteries. You need to check for the region you are in.

First of all, congrats for yout Excelent video. I have a problem maybe you or someone can help me: I bought a Xiaomi camera C300. The problem is the camera keeps recording all the time (continuous recording, loop recordin) making clips of 1minute each for 24 hours a day…I would like to change it so it records only when movement/events happen. The option of Home Monitoring is OFF, and even with the option OFF the Camera continuous recording. I want to stop record. I want to stop detecting movements. The problem is, I choose the option OFF (not monitoring, not detect nothing, and the Camera still recording....Can someone help me with this (the firmware is updated - 5.1.6_1066). Thank you

Heya That sounds odd as you have all the settings correctly. Try factory reset the data and re input the settings you need. Let me know if this works

@@WootDini UPDATE: I found the solution at channet of Hi-Tech Tai Bai: SETTINGS, then MANAGE STORAGE, SD CARD STATUS, RECORDING MODE, and choose DETECTED MOTION. I hope this can help others. Thanks again for your concerne.

Sorry for the delay. I wanted to check in on this. Subscription is only for cloud. You can still do SD without subscription.

Heya Soz, you are correct but it's hard to show that on a video because it changes. That's why showing video in a video is not the best because you don't know what encoding rates or reso I recorded in or nor do I know what quality the video is being watched on. That's why I opted more for unboxing and spec vs review

Hello That is strange, but does it not have a battery (some do not ship with built in battery) But even then it should still work. Try reset the device

Heya. Sounds faulty. Try a factory reset. If that does not work I would suggest returning it for inspection
