I think you might be mixing this with Fear of Falling. Fear of heights is when you are scared to be on Airplanes, Elevator, anything that's really high. Fear of falling is when you are scared to fall off a cliff, ladder, roller coaster, etc. The majority of people have fear of falling, 1 in 10 have fear of heights. Fear of falling aka Basiphopbia is a natural human survival instinct.

Not only are they serious fears, a phobia becomes a phobia when it is an IRRATIONAL fear. It is normal to fear a lion, it is not normal however to get a panick attack when you see a picture of one, if you're constantly stressing because you think a lion is going to attack you, etc.

I have a sink under a bathroom mirror and in the middle of the night when I need water I go to that sink since it’s the closest and the paranoia is just extreme, I often get a heart beat so fast that I get dizzy, probably about 160bpm but I’m not sure

@@jamesthe3rd623 that happened to me yesterday.. there was a big mosquito eater bug flying around and when I went to the bathroom it was on the wall and when I went in there I froze and my legs started shaking, then I slowly grabbed a tower off the tub and threw it at the bug and the ran out the bathroom and could not sleep the whole night..

Yeah I've got a proper phobia to jelly fish. I simply refuse to swim in a body of water that might contain them. Just looking at them gives me shivers. It's not that I'm afraid of just being stung by them, it's just their shape, the way they move, everything about them just makes me want to not go anywhere close to them

As someone with an actual fear of heights, it is real. I had a panic attack in the mall once because the thought of going up on an escalator frightened me and i really hate being in high places. It’s not the fear of falling, but it’s an actual fear of being up high. I’d rather be grounded bc i feel more safe i guess.

The reason people would be scared of mirrors is that when people look in the mirrors, they see strange things in the mirror that are not even real. That’s the reason people would be scared of mirrors, not because their ugly, but because they see weird stuff in the mirrors. These fears are actually what people have.

Also have Necrophobia, not for death itself but for bodies it genuinely makes me go mental. I remember in particular at my grandma’s funeral, I loved my grandma very very much, she was like a second mother. I regret it to this day but everyone else gave her a kiss on the forehead to say goodbye but I was too afraid to do it. Deep irrational fear in me that just made me terrified.

These probabilities are completely false. Most of them don't make sense. Some of them are way more common, while others seem to be including normal anxieties or worries with actual phobias to up the chance.

The thing is most people don't know what a phobia really is. It is an intense, irrational fear of something. So these statistics are more correct than you think as it is not just for people who are scared of something.

I also have trypanophobia or fear of needles because I was afraid of needles when I was young and i continued to have that fear until 17 years old. But at 16 years old, i was stressed out during the 1st dose of the COVID 19 vaccine but soon after it was finally gone, there is an unlikely chance that i might have that fear again, studies showed that more than 30% chance that children will be terrified of the needle and might want to skip either the vaccine or the blood test.

@@rep-vile Not necessarily "social" since I can actually go out in certain places like coffee shops, restaurants, and all of that with my good friends. However, in places like giant halls with lots of people in them makes me extremely uneasy, to the point where it evolved to which I can't even travel anywhere (not even to cities or villages next to me ) because I'm afraid of being in any open area.

"Fear of rejection" isn't really me being afraid of being rejected by a crush or whatever. I'm afraid of people's opinions and views on me. I do everything I possibly can to be on everyone's good side. Like, absolutely everything. I get super emotional when I mess up, like, I begin panicking. And when I feel someone doesn't like me I begin beating myself up over it. Sometimes I have thoughts of hurting myself or ending it all because of it, it's hard at times. I hate Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. I hate how it makes me feel sometimes. How I just add non-existent details to conversations after the fact. How I assume people hate me even though they've only been nice to me. It may sound like depression but no. It's different. I don't have depression, and I'm not bipolar. One of my episodes aren't even that long, it's short. Short and intense. I don't know why the video has it listed as a "phobia". I don't think it's a phobia. I think it's a mental disorder.

I didn’t really think I was afraid of small spaces, but one time my brother held me down with a blanket over me when we were playfighting and I nearly had a panic attack. Phobias aren’t rational: they’re more of an instinctive response to a situation.

5:05 I have this phobia. Im scared of everything about them, The feel, sound and smell its just uncomfortable. I cant even be in the same room as a balloon.

i have bad megalophobia. that's the irrational fear of large, tall or looming objects structures. i know it's not rational but when i see something like a enormous 500 foot tall cloud or a huge cruise ship from a low angle my body gets VERY warm for a second. i tense up and my brain gets fuzzy for a very short second. i literally go cross eyed seeing some things. it's not like some phobiacs where they panic or cry but man i came close once...

Interesting i dont have any of these phobias now (except death i guess) but i did have when i was a kid. One of the typical is being scared by the monster under you bed. It wasn't just under the bed, somehow i thought he also could come if any part of my doby is not under the blanket so every night it wasn't just going to sleep but kinda preparing for safe sleep. Another one is fear of mirrors. I had it pretty long time, don't know when i stopped fear it. At first there were a superstition in my country like if you look into a mirror at night, demon might appear and i imagined that my reflection could turn to a demon but later i was just scared of reflection anytime because it looked real and i just felt like another me is spying on me. Moreover if you look at nose or other part of face, your eyes don't move much so when you look at reflection with your side-vision it feels like he is still looking into your eyes (while you look somewhere else). I could watch into a mirror but not for long, max for about 5-10 seconds. Good thing i don't have it now.

My fears : 1. Fear of heights 2. Maybe fear of spiders ( if they bite then yes I fear them.. If spiders don't bite I actually touch them and I have already did it ) 3. fear of short spaces ( it makes me short-breathing which annoys me ) ( and by short places I mean like being trapped in a box from my head to my toes, not things like being stuck in an elevator )

I have kasteriphobia, megalophobia, kinemortophobia, bathmonphobia. And no, it’s not just a fear, I literally cry when I see cockroaches, I feel scared when I look up to the moon or when I have dreams about being able to see the universe from earth (like the movies were you can see Jupiter from near). I have nightmares when I see a zombie movie or when I see a clip of them. And I can’t even go down stairs cause I feel dizzy and like I’m going to fall and die (I cry sometimes)

I have fears of height, dark places, Death, Small spaces, Insects and bugs, public speaking, Unknown, scratching(it gives me goosebumps whenever I scratch anything, object, papers, myself, etc) , fear of honesty , forest , dancing. AND ALSO COCKROACHES, IM SCARED OF COCKROACHES MORE THAN ANYTHING. Also I used to have fear of blood, ghosts,monsters hiding under bed, chicken. (now that i see this, I have alotta fucking phobias...)

“Ive never been stung” ok I wanna share my story of how I got stung, I was climbing a ladder in 2nd grade during recess, apparently there was like a god damn bee chilling on the other side cause I was like “yo why my hand kinda sting” I turn it towards me and then I see something fly away and it starts hurting then I was like “Oh I got stung” and the thing is I was so dumb I didn’t bother to tell anyone besides my mom when I came home

2:53 atychiphobia is actually much rarer than that. People think they have that but its not actually true. This is a very life ruining phobia, if you have this, ur not just going to be afraid to fail, but you will try everything to avoid every opportunity to even have chance to fail (idk if that made sense my english is bad. U basiclly dont do anything because ur afraid to fail). You mostly do things ur already good at, if that phobia kicked in later, after you had common skills, because if it didnt, ur fucked. Its gonna be really hard to learn things, because you cant get good at it without failing at it (mostly). Im a psychologist by the way.
