I am glad you put in Magenta, I would also add Phthalo, to get cleaner secondary's (CYMK) and titanium white and the blender to ensure your cool tones stay cool. This is a very warm palette .

Chrissy I go through a lot of sponge tips with the applicator on Pastelmat 140lbs. Do you too? If not, what advice do you have for making tips last longer.

steve smith G'Day Steve thanks for your comment. Yes I do go through quite a few sponge applicators. Unfortunately this is a given when using abrasive papers. The only thing I do to keep these last longer is to wash them and even then on many occasions they don't survive. But in the end these sofft tools do a great job.

What kind of paper is good for panpastels? I found on some papers the colours are not vibrant and I can not mix them :(
@Xrissart
@Xrissart 6 ай бұрын
Hi Darieta, Thank you for your question 😊 the Pans can be applied on just about any paper. Originally, when these pans were made, the manufacturer at the time tested them on a non sanded pastel paper such as Canson. I use Pastelmat and find my colours are quite vibrant as Pastelmat grabs the pastel. You need to add a few layers on the paper before you start to see results. Hope this helps, and thank you for watching.

you have Red Iron Oxide Ex Dark written twice - on the video one of them must be a much darker colour - also never heard of PastelFx paper - how does it compare to Pastelmat?
@Xrissart

Oh Kathy my goodness you are so correct, many apologies (how silly of me) thank you so much for letting me know. The Pan just below Permanent Red is RED IRON OXIDE (not Ex Dark) great pick up. Pastellfix is a lighter paper 170 gsm 80lbs as opposed to Pastelmat 360gsm 140lbs (I just wish Pastellfix was heavier, (I would use it more). The pastels fill the tooth very quickly and almost has a grip feel when you touch it.

Hi there. What kind of paper do you use to mix the colors? I mean, what's that white paper on the video? When I try to mix colors on a paper I just can't transfer them to another paper like you did here. It seems that the first paper absorbers all the pigment.

G'day there Frau, thank you for your question. I'm using cartridge paper 110gsm, this is thick enough to absorb and help me mix colours. Thank you so much for watching ❤
