Bank Guarantee ke liye Contractor aapne paise Bank me lock karta hai fir Bank Guarantee milti hai. Bank Guarantee koi insurance thodi hai, jo Bank aapne paise claimer to de. Bank Guarantee ka Validity period hota hai aur fir claim period hota hai. Agar uss date me claim raise nahi kiya gaya to koi claim valid nahi hota.

I see a lot of comments here. And I wonder how people are defending HDFC here. It looks like most of them have no idea about Bank guarantee. HDFC Bank played crooked here. But to the investors of HDFC BANK, don't worry nothing will happen. The bank has already given a huge bribery for such accounts. It's is ultimately the tax payer money which will be wasted, either Punjab Govt will make a write off against the rightfull money which it owns OR long judiciary process against HDFC Bank.

It's Punjab Government fault for not reading terms and conditions. Also if I had been a head of ministry in the government, I would have immediately terminated all high ranking officials for not conveying necessary terms and conditions to the government. But as we all know there is a saying if you are in a government job, you are more likely to end your service at retirement. That's why government institutions are always in lose.

As far i know first you have to deposit that amount as demand draft in bank then Bank issue the bank guarantee of that amount. So if a person is not able to complete the work then government can seize the money.

Mere cibil 820 tha , bank wale ne mujhe HDFC credit diya 1.20lacs ke limit par . 1 saal sahi se use krne pe 1.5lacs tak ka limit mila . Phor credit card wale mujhe bina bateye hidden charges , intrest + gst pe paise faltu ke katne lage . Kafi behas hone ke bad bank wale mujhe paisa pay karane pe majboor kar diye , maine paise jama kar diye .phir mujhe 2lacs ka limit mila or mai gusse me pura paisa hi use kar use 1 v paisa wapas nhi kiya or bola jo karna h kar lo 😅. Aaj mera cibil 350 h . I m proud of myself 😂. Or kato hidden charge 😂

"Bank ne idhar udhar ki chizen batake paisa dene se mana kar diya" Banks always do that. Strange thing is that the government does not have the brains to read the contract of Bank Gurantee before accepting. Govt could have published its own terms for the BG. For a small time business man it is ok to claim this pretext of "idhar udhar" but not for the Government.

Why punjab govt dint checked bank gurantee. Because bank also has to face contractor . Contractor may take legal action for realising bank gurantees. As terms and conditioned should be breached then only bank will release gurantee.

Bank Gurantee mein The supplier/contractor needs to deposit the said amount as a Fixed Deposit.Bank guarantee is always on a safer side,Letter of credit is a risk for bank if the supplier/contractor has discounted the lc & have avail the money before it gets matured.

Bank does not give money out of thei pocket. The vendor has to make corresponding fd in that bank before bank will issue the BG.
