Most exciting radio on the market ... Top 3 as measured scientifically on the Sherwood list for a fraction of the price. And that NR is out of this world. Menu system is so intuitive and fun to touch the screen. Can’t wait to get an antenna up so I can hear something (Any antenna is better than no antenna)

I've been licensed for 48 years and still have vacuum tube radios in active service. The FTdx-10 is an incredible value! The rx is nearly an equal to the 101MP at over 2X the price. Thanks for the overview!

Great video. I bought one in early April, wonderful radio. I always learn tidbits about by watching various videos. I learned about the 3 memories for each band on this video, very handy. BTW, I don't like what seems like a very short 3 seconds to respond to the pop-up menus before they disappear.

Good video. CW-L / CW-U ? If you are on 40 meters SSB and want to send CW to someone using audio LSB, without touching the VFO, change the mode to CW-L. Now when you send CW the person on LSB will hear you. The same goes for someone on 20 meters SSB. Change to CW-U and again the person on SSB upper side band will hear you. If you are working CW in the CW portion of the a band, sometimes changing from CW-L to CW-U can help get rid of an interfering signal. Barry, KU3X

just ordered one. As a new General, I excited to replace the old Kenwood 440TS that was loaned to me. Its got some dot issues and its glitchy. Hope its not too much radio for me.

Will the Yaesu FP-1030A DC power supply (30 Amps peak current and 24 Amps continuous current at 13.6 VDC), power this radio?

Could you please help me with something. I have been searching everywhere to see if the ftdx 10 has the VC tuner in it like ftdx 101D has. It is the VC-tuner that makes the 101D so fabulous and everybody wants it. They say the little brother 10 edition it’s also good at tuning in a station I cannot find any picture that shows the VC-tuner on the ftdx 10 Version. Do you know anything about this could you help me please

I am about to order an FTDX10. It was that or a 7300, but with my eyeballs getting old, I can use a bigger (extermal) screen, and am willing to pay for it. This video and others have shown me the way.

If you adjust your monitor level to at least number 1 it will record your tx out as well as rx. 👍

Turn monitor on and it will record your outgoing signal audio….if you don’t want monitor feature for feedback issues….turn monitor level to zero but on to record your audio.

This rig is easie peisy. The UI pulls common stuff right up top for rapid access. And the sub-menu structure (4 or 5 soft buttons on bottom) is well organized and intuitive by function. Trust me, it's a 1000x simplified over the old FT-100d, and 50x easier the the newish FTM-400XD. And even before the videos had 80% comprehension to use. You want confusion grab a 878 HT. 🤣

I think you need to ask what you plan to do. I just got my first HF rig got my tech in 11/2020 and General 12/2020 checked all the videos and it was down to the Icom 7300 and the Yaesu FT-991a. I went with the Yaesu as its a shack in the box HF / UHF / VHF . I think both are great Radios along with this one I would say its down to what user interface you prefer. Yaesu seems a bit more menu driven but has great Digital Noise Reduction the Icom has a more user friendly interface I am told but no UHF / VHF. Either way you cant go wrong with most of the modern radios.

It's likely a MARS modded radio. There are MARS participants that do it, but some people get it done for emergency use. There's nothing to say you can't have your radio MARS modded, or wrong for having it if you're not a MARS operator, just don't transmit outside your licensed privileges. The exception for imminent threats to life or property for any frequency any mode does apply.

maybe a 7 for the ftdx10 and a 10 for the 7300... unless bling is yo thang. In that case maybe an 8 for the Waesu and and 8 for the 7300. The 7300 is quality communications gear that will serve you longer and better really, without the goofy eye candy and needless steps to engage a control you need at the moment .

@@stephen1711 I am not generally a Yaesu fan, but I couldn't disagree with you more. The Yaesu has more USEABLE features, a better receiver, and better tools to pull out weak signals. It is truly an advancement over the 7300, which is 5-years older.
