6 consecutive games in the Yak-141 Freestyle supersonic VTOL 4th gen fighter jet. Similar to the Mig-29 in armaments but with a VTOL twist, making it at times supermaneuverable.

Note: The Yak-141 *does* have a radar lead-indicator, I just couldn't see it in the moment as that was the first time I used the feature since I switched to a green color for my aircraft aim UI

I dont know about other people but i just absolutely love the way this weapon of war looks like, i just love the design of it, there no other jet that looks close to it or similar, f-35 has similar features but the jet it self looks very different even tho f-35 takes alot from yak 141

I have both MiG-29 and Yak-41 spaded and the Yaks radar is better imo. It has better tracking , range, modes, radar tilt/yaw (moving the search zone). it can also scan wider or more narrow. I find it better in every way possible. ground clutter lost your lock not the radar, that shot was way to close to the ground the MiG-29 does the same thing.

Interesting, from my experience the Yak's radar wouldn't lock on to targets as easily, wouldn't track targets as well and would fail me more often overall. If I am wrong about the radar then the Yak-141 is indeed even better than I thought it was, ig I should have looked into it further than just going off of my experiences alone

2x ER 2x R/T = 4 of best missiles at the BR. tons of 11.3 downtiers.

Unpopular opinion probably, but I think top tier matches should be 6v6 or 8v8. You have way too many powerful missiles flying around, meaning matches end very quickly for one team or the other and no one gets to use the insane performance of these aircraft on a close range engagement. Or even properly BVR, since whenever you have to focus on defending yourself from an incoming SAHR, there'll be two to three people slinging IRs at you from multiple angles. 16v16 works great for props and other older aircraft but the dynamic of modern air combat doesn't really fit on large player numbers. My opinion ofc, since I enjoy hard-fought dogfights...

I feel like somehow adding at least a game mode where everyone gets low air spawns on an EC map (that are unmarked so thus you don’t know where the enemies are coming from) could be interesting too. Then it would make it so that you actually have to use your radar to find enemy planes and make it feel a lot more realistic

@@DasFlank I don't think that's the solution, though I will agree PD radars are a bit too powerful. The problem with BVR combat is that you don't get to explore it to its full potential. You already know where everyone is, just lock and send one into the furball. With less players, it would make it so that you have to actually search for your targets and use the missiles wisely, since your target will have the space to defend himself.

@@BirchNova That would be the real deal. I watched some BVR combat in DCS and while War Thunder isn't a simulator, the dynamic of DCS' combat can be easily reproduced in WT. Actually searching for your target and doing real BVR would be very cool. I also think Air RB EC or some kind of gamemode that focused on objectives rather than the TDM furball would be a massive improvement.

@@Jaeger_89 it is. Forced closer engagements. I.e. gunfights/dogfights. You may not like it. But that would be the best and easiest solution. Not a single person enjoys getting killed by them.

yak gets a slightly worse mig 29 smt radar, with the difference being like 5 or 10 degrees less off boresight capabilities

Yak is far better in bvr than mig29 if you know what you are doing.

So it would seem, I need to figure out how to make it work better at BVR for myself because I was confident that it was less capable until people told me otherwise lol

@@BirchNova Yak's radar have widest scanning sector, so you can guide your missile literally from notch to your opponent. And while mig have only 2 mid range missiles, yak have 4
