I recently purchased a Warwick Gnome head, and a Warwick Gnome 1x10 cabinet, as a backup rig. I have been using a Fender Rumble 200 at home for a few years, but I just got into an old man cover band. The Warwick sounds so good, that I just sold the rumble and bought another Gnome head and cabinet.

Nice sounding rig! BTW, SMT is Surface Mount Technology meaning that the components (which are generally really, really small) are essentially glued to the board and then soldered on top of the traces (rather than having components with leads inserted into the board before soldering).

That's a really good-sounding rig, especially for the size!!! I'm almost certain that I'm getting a C4 cabinet.

Nice review! From my understanding, Yamaha DOES make bass amps. They're called Ampeg.

Some good advice here …. thankyou. Might I suggest you don’t put bubble wrap under that amp … they get hot and that stuff will make cooling it even harder

Sounds really nice! Really gave me an idea of how the Phil Jones cabinet sounds. Now thinking of picking one up after your vid. Are you still happy with it or have you run into any issues since you put this up? I have been using a Fender Rumble 500 head for the past decade and i love that amp. It is 350 into 8ohms. Packs a wallop when i run my 3 8ohm Fender rumble 12 cabs. This PJ cab looks much more portable for taking to a practice with the 5 lb Rumble head. Anywhooo....thanks and grea vid! Also ...love the looks and sound of that Yamaha too. I play 5 strings and was really shocked at how well that cab handles the low B. Cheers

I just picked up a Phil Jones cab 27. Found it used at a fair price. Using it with my Warwick Gnome head.

I usually just use a D. I. Box when I played live gigs. I don't use any effects so it keeps everything simple

A little late maybe, but Yamaha makes bass amps, they bought Ampeg some time ago, and the Venture series and Rocket Bass are under Yamaha!

Those Yamaha's are amazing. I believe these pickups are copies of the red Yamaha Louis Johnson played. These bass guitars are absolutely lovely. Comparable to a Musicman@ Sabre. After 5/6 years the caps in the power amp of class D needs replacement. In fact that is a fairly simple job.

IDK how it sounded to everyone else, but that first low B sounded terrible.
