I talk a little about the Yamaha BWS100's CVT, or at least my understanding of how the little smoker's CVT works and how I've been tuning it over the years.

Which combination of roller weight (how many grams?) - spring (2000rpm?) - Little clutch springs (the 3 little ones) for the best all around bws? And also, if the BIG spring is 2.000rpm, the 3 little ones have to be also 2.000rpm? What happen if i mix them? Like the big one 2.000rpm and keep the 1.000rom blue ones inside? Thanks a lot ! Loved your video and explanation
@Radness1001 Жыл бұрын
Yes, can mix springs. Std, big spring and x3 2000rpm small springs - rollers ±36g total. This setup is common with a performance exhaust. 2000rpm big spring, and x3 2000rpm and x3 2000rpm small springs - rollers ±50g total.

@@MJHrideordie the 2 stroke resovior holds 1.7l, it has no reel viewing window. Fill it to the mark, an then fill it up when the light comes on. The 2 stroke reserve holds plenty, enough forn 3 tanks of fuel.

Great informative video👍 I recently got a 2008 bws, stock standard with 18000kms Bike is very sluggish until 60kmh (compared to my sym 125 scooter) then pulls well, what could the problem be? I’ve cleaned the carb, cleaned the air filter and checked the rollers (8.5g), it also seems to have a “dead spot” at about 3/4 throttle. Any advice is appreciated

Great video actually first video I see for a cvt tranny now I have a question I travel to colombia alot I have a 2012 bws100 down there now sometime the hills are soooo steep I have to get off the bike I can't find a trustworthy garage to do maintenance and yamaha don't service this anymore what would I need to change on the cvt to keep high torque at lower speed?
@Radness10012 жыл бұрын
You'd need to get lighter rollers fitted. It may need a set of fresh rings too if it's struggling up hills.

Hi Ryan. I upgraded my Yamaha Bws 100 to Malossi 124 cc kit with 22mm carb. and ı use my original exhaust and original cvt. What do you suggest to improve my top speed ?
@Radness10013 жыл бұрын
You'd need the Malossi gear up kit. Fitting a proper tuned pipe, cone air filter and jetting your bike for the 124cc is must to ensure optimum performance. Heavier rollers will improve top speed but will effect your pull off. But in all honesty if you're looking for top speed, you've bought the wrong bike.
