Back in 1979 my fs1e could do 56mph I was a 8 stone 16 year old it was a fantastic little bike

Just finished a ty50 for my eldest, my middle son has pinched the rd50 ; I sold the FS1E and my rd400f to make room for some more builds

go for it. Unlike a lot of bikes of this era you can get virtually everything so its a relatively easy restore

Modern ethanol contaminated petrol has less energy content than leaded petrol, so you'll never achieve the original performance. The 1970's FS1E MIRA tested top speed was 44 MPH with the rider prone.

should at least hit forty . . i know we were all about 12 stone at the time. LOL.
