After FINALLY getting my 2020 Yamaha R1 ECU flashed thanks to BrenTuning, you KNOW I had to get this thing on the dyno to see what kind of power gains the bike was making, even though my butt dyno could tell the bike was running better. thanks for the update and dyno. its not exactly good publicity for brentuning though 😞. i might hold off on buying a 2020 until there is a full ecu flash available in the UK, the dyno guy near to where i live said that the 2020 r1 with the kit race ecu and wiring harness were putting down 197 at the rear wheel in super stock mode and that he believes a full unlocked stock ecu could be better because there are more parameters that they can adjust over the race ecu. its just a matter of waiting patiently.

Maybe I can't see it but where's the straps on the dyno? Pushing that tire into the dyno roller can clean up that curve and gain more value or the true value. But don't over do it, you can add too much pressure and take power away

If the fuel system isn't designed for E85 use, the higher alchohol content will corrode fuel system components. In cars too, not just bikes.

He has the SC Project CRT exhaust. That and the Austin Racing are the best sounding exhausts for the R1.

this is why i go with power commander all the less options but i can get the map custom made for my bike i dont know anywhere i can take the bike to a dyno and a flash at the same time one day i might get a flash without a map change just to change the throttle etc which is not as restricted like the US

your check engine light is likely because it ran to over 200mph with the front wheel doing 0mph the bike is confused i have a little diagnostic device i plug into my R6 to remove a check engine light from a dyno run Creader 3001 with a yamaha connection

@@2wheelsonly614i did say i dont know anywhere with a dyno and able to flash there is only 1 dyno i know of within 200km and there dynojet only if the option is PCV or sending the ECU away or having a map sent for it over the net the PCV option is better, the flash is only when they can dyno your bike getting a tune installed on a bike it was not made for is stupid you dont get all your power even in this video motos R1 could be doing better then it is now but the map was not made for his R1 BUT BUT BUT i should also point out it is a little different australia vs american the restrictions in the throttle for the american ECU is way more fucked then australia CBR you wont get 100% throttle in the US but for that you could just turn that stuff off yourself with a home flash kit

The afrs were terrible at 100% which is the easiest to tune… If they can’t tune 100% throttle correctly then I can only imagine the other 50 TPS and IAP maps would be terrible as well.

Rather play it safe than sorry tho e85 burns cooler and has more knock resistance. It’s cheaper and sure you get less gallons per mile and have to fill often but you’d practically be paying the same for 93

A few things here. 1.The pump gas runs are only rich at the top end, leading up to that its actually lean. Why this guy told you it's running rich enough to run e85 is a little concerning. 2. Regardless of the bad O2 sensor, you can clearly see e85 is running too lean. 15-17 AFR at WOT is dangerous. I would try a different dyno, maybe someone with a working O2 sensor.

Let's say you ran E85 at WOT and leaned out the fuel. Would the engine get wildly hot before it exploded or would there not be enough time to notice?

@@2wheelsonly614 Yeah the bad sensor is causing it to jump up and down but the range is still 15-17, That's too lean. What kind of dyno tuner pours in E85 on a already majority lean WOT map, sees that it's showing lean on a bad sensor but does another pull anyways and then sends the customer home with E85 in the tank and tells him it's an E85 map.

Why is no one running 110 octane race or av fuel? I use it in my superbike that's running only 10.5 cr. Tune it with a tank of that and watch what happens.

@@SeventhCircle77 Unless the ecu "flexes" for the ethanol you're just getting less mileage and rotting rubber/corroding metals. Meanwhile we 'are' talking max power here. You can still run 93 or 91 pump gas when you're not serious, and av gas when you are. BTW, you can have 55gal drums offloaded at your house. Then it's cheaper cuz you're cutting out the middleman.

Part of it is possibly your exhaust. They built the tune on a bike with a long can Akrapovic and you have the SC Project can with like half the baffling

At a e85 pump about $2.60 and race e85 from a 5 gallon pail around 10 bucks a gallon

E85 can go as cheap as $2.00/gallon from the pump depending on where you're located. It's almost always cheaper than gasoline.

Been hearing negative things/issues with bren tune flashes lately. dips in power, lean spots, and a bike that isn’t as smooth as it should be. Really Bad sign if If they sent ya an unsolicited e85 tune. I wonder how many bikes are running the wrong tunes And how many revisions/different bikes they used to make this flash.

@motorguitarcycle did you disconnect the co2 sensors? When i disconnected mine like they recommend the quickshifter stopped working and it stayed in A mode only but when i reconnected it the flash felt great. Did that happen to you?

@@AestheticAbe Basically a map is a saved excel sheet that is modified to change your AFR to read what you would like it to read. Example: Rider buys power commander and plugs it into bike. you then open power commander software on your PC that is free. once plugged in and the bike is on you will see fuel tables with numbers everywhere. once you change any of those numbers you are basically creating a custom map. I am slightly retarded and 1000% sure there was a better way to explain this lol

You're going to blow your engine unless you get a real tune for e85. 17afr is so lean I would be surprised if you got 1000 miles out of that "tune" with e85

I would not be impressed with that map😂 my 2018 s1000rr was done a custom map, afr was on point and it was doing 198 at the tyre(on a dyno that's renound for reading lower than others 😉) big gains granted. But could be much better

Same, i did the dimsport R1 20-21 at moto mechanica and just flash and decat 194rwhp/114nm. And i have the same self tuning map as s1000rr 2020-> The new r1 has the same capability. I have to ask my tuner if i can just run e85, would think so..

You have to make sure that you don't leave E85 in the tank otherwise it could rust or clog injectors.

First off whatever is done within that flash isn't right. You shouldn't have a dip like that up top after a flash. Also I've seen multiple other R1's with this garbage flash from Bren all with that same dip and all not making anywhere near the power as the previous years. Second after hearing that guy talk and how he bangs through the gears while doing power pulls, I would never consider or tell someone to go there for anything. Dude doesn't sound like he's very knowledgeable at all.
