I haven't tried that brand, but figure they all work pretty much the same. There is a coupon code for $20 off this specific unit on my video description. Not sure how much the version from Home Depot costs.

Thanks John. I hope this works out "well," for you. If not and the dissolved solids are too much you may benefit from a salt based system with a sediment filter and carbon filter. It is the extreme opposite from this solution, but its like showering in drinking water.

Hey Eric. Yeah the builder was nice enough to add a shut off valve on the pre-plumb. Its super helpful to not need to run to the water main for a shut off.

Hey Sybreeder, you need a Well Water filtration system. I know you want to stay inexpensive, but unfortunately that may not be an option. SpringWell is an online softening/filtration site and offers a Well filtration system for just over 2k. It has a spin down filter ahead of the Well water filter to clear out sediment. This will solve your problem. Note that the rust stains are most likely coming from your water heater. You may need to replace it soon as corrosion tends to rot a hole in it. You can get a water heater with a ceramic lining, but it will also cost more. The good news is that those bad boys last for a very long time.

It did reduce the amount of buildup. There was still some buildup after the install, but it didnt accumulate as fast.

Thats a really good idea. I have even seen folks put this descaler directly on their inlet for their water heaters.

90% of that so called ‘scale’ is actually remains of the sacrificial rod inside the water heater.

@@mikeprenis2187 I kind of wondered about that so that would make the descaler ineffective cuz if it's not taking that calcium out of the water and that scale is just coming from the rod the descaler isn't going to work on the rod.

Well, water remains on the dishes. Eventually that water dries leaving behind any imperfections that were in the water.

The claim is that the minerals don’t adhere to surfaces well. Another video demonstrated this with a dish of water that evaporated, one before, and one after. The “after” dish had a residue but it was easily wiped clean, the “before” dish looked the same but could not be wiped clean without using chemicals.

You totally missed the point. This is not a water softener. It's a descaler.

Would show the same as electronic descalers don't even suggest that they remove anything. They are supposed to change the formnof the calcium in the water to not scale as much

He's not presenting a scientific experiment with verifiable, sensor or probe device collected data , which can be replicated. He's also not genuinely presenting this out of the goodness of his heart, he is an affiliate for company in the video, and gets paid if people use his link to the company website and they buy one of these pieces of garbage.

Magnetic treatment does not remove calcium or magnesium from hard water, as they are both non magnetic.

That is Epic Prophetic. I would be terrified to pinch my fingers or bits in-between those magnets. Great solution though.

Hello Prophetic, Your Solution Seems To Be Much Cheaper. Did You Place Magnets With Specific Magnetic Pole Position (say South Pole To Face Pipe) And What Was The Gap Between Each Magnet And Size of Magnets That You Used. Thank You.

​@@jeevanb9527 when i did my research, what i found is that the orientation does not matter. what does matter is the strength of the magnetic field and the surface area. you will read that north does something and south does the exact opposite. i reality i didnt find any evidence that either is superior for our use. the bigger the magnet and the bigger the area the better (longer in our case). (read the article on nature for more info) my magnets are blocks 50mmx10mmx10mm 21kg pull (21000 gauss) axially magnetised so both "ends" are facing the water. each row has 4 magnets equally space apart from each other on the radius of the pipe 1 inch in between each row. It's more expensive up front. But long term is cheaper. That electric thing will work maybe 5 years. This.... until they rust away

You are totally correct Maverick. If you can afford a more expensive system and can install it, it would be more beneficial to get a conditioner, I personally have a three stage sediment filter, carbon filter, and water softener. Its like showering with bottled water.

How does a water conditioner remove fluoride? When we were on city water we needed RO to remove fluoride….

@@willowriverranch7965 A conditioner will not remove the chlorine or flouride. You can go with a system that has a charcoal filter. I have upgraded my own home to have a system with a huge carbon filter ahead of the softener. This doesnt remove 100% of the additives, but it makes a huge difference.

@@ThisGuyProductions carbon does not remove fluoride, that’s why we had to do RO. We’re on a well now, have an excellent filtration system, but the water is hard.

I appreciate the feedback from a plumber. As was outlined in the video, the benefits of a decaler are minimal, but there is a benefit to dissolved solids not sticking to surfaces.

You must have severe comprehension problem. No one claimed that the devise is removing the minerals. The question is do the minerals continue to stick to the faucets or not.

@@markgorman4805 yeah the answer is in most cases they do still have mineralization on their fixtures. doing this for a living ive seen people try to use this many times and ive ripped it off and installed plenty of softners in the past. you must have a thinking i give 2 shits about what you have to think problem which is cute. keep it up big guy, someday someone will care about what you have to say.
