The Yeelight Staria standing lamp is the big brother of the Yeelight Staria bedside lamp which has started to appear on amazon internationally (amzn.to/2Kf79xh). Although the standing light doesn't have the Qi charging like it's little brother, it's full of good things that make it a good addition to any smarthome.
The lamp appears to be well built, and the addition of tactile controls are a welcome addition when comparing this to the typical method of adding a smartbulb to an existing lamp.
But things aren't all bright with the Staria Standing lamp. The one thing that I really dislike about this lamp is how it's been exposed to Apple Homekit. Although the Lamp does offer full RGBW color spectrum in the Yeelight app as well as exposing it out to both Amazon and Google centered smarthomes, the Homekit integration only gives us white warmth controls. This seems like a really big oversight on the part of Yeelight at best, a deliberate choice at worst.
Although the lack of the color controls in homekit doesn't win them any points in my mind, the inclusion of Siri Shortcuts support does at least mitigate this feature lack to some degree as Shortcuts can be used to still launch colors or dynamic scenes while staying within the apple ecosystem.
All in all, I'm happy with the Yeelight Staria Standing.
