This is a great way to start your journey. One thing I give you credit for is hiking in the tropical temperatures. I am surprised they don’t have leeches there. When we hiked in Brisbane the first time we got covered, lesson learned the hard way.

I've been watching several sailing channels and yours is at the top of my list of three favorites. You've got a killer live story and I long for that same adventure but on a different type of catamaran. Since watching sailing channels for the past year, I've made the goal of saving up for it and planning that type of lifestyle. The only thing that concerns me is pirates and getting my shit stolen. The insurance doesn't seem like an issue as long as you read and understand the paperwork but then again, the paperwork would probably favor the insurance companies and end up getting paid out a lot less than the actual value of a total loss. I've heard of so many nightmare stories about insurance companies that make me just want to go without it because in many cases, people pay and end up getting nothing in return after an issue. So why bother if it just cost money with nothing in return.

Do either of you remember where the trail head was for this trail? I've asked around to find the trail head to get to the top of the island but I haven't been successful.

Did you guys keep a record for all the work that got done and put that vs. just paying for them to get that all done before you arrived? just curious as to the cost/time issue here, because lets face it, 2 weeks in the yard has gotta cost more in time and effort for you? Or, did you find it was a valuable experience in building confidence in the boat, and your own workmanship?

I would gladly pay the 14 HUNDRED dollars to avoid all that work. I just thought I wanted a cat. A 35 foot mono would be plenty

The next time you find ants on board mix up a tablespoon of borax with an equal amount of powdered sugar and add just a bit of water and maybe some honey. Put in in a jar lid and place it near the ants. It won't be long before the disappear.

Our dream is to buy a Lagoon sometime in the next few years and retire onboard someday. I was wondering what brand and model of drone you fly. I would be concerned about losing it in the ocean, but it doesn't look like you're using one of the "floating" ones. Can you tell me about it?
