Hey Jessica…. In 2010, after 6 months of surgical biopsies, I learned I had a stage 4 cancer…. Once they figured out what I had, they blasted me with chemo and it totally worked. Two years later, I noticed something was wrong and I was diagnosed with an early stage endometrial cancer. That was resolved surgically. It’s been 10 years since I’ve had cancer!!! You are young and have excellent support in all the important ways. You’ll do what you need to do and you’ll get to the point where you’ll do what I’m doing…. Saying you once had cancer and you’ll boost the spirit of those who are new to the experience. You’re going to be OK : )

My sister had an aggressive cervical cancer at age 33,while planning her wedding. I believe it was stage four. She will be 64 this August. I will pray for you. Do all you can to destress. Take a break from this all when you need to. Take care of you.❤️

May I suggest...Do whatever your doctors say are the steps you need to take. Eat as clean a diet as possible. Try not to worry. Talk, talk, talk it out with cancer support groups...Stage 3 breast cancer survivor x 20 years ago.

Notes from a Cancer Servivor. 1. Let people give and do for you, it is their way of helping and show they love and care for you. 2. The american Cancer Society was a great support for me when I was battling cancer many years ago. They had a program which helped pay for housing near my treatment center. So I could travel a day or two before treatment and be rested and ready on treatments day, rather than getting up at dawn to drive for hours before all day treatments. 3. One day at a time, one task at a time. 4. Rest and Self care for you and Brian is so important- surround yourself with a good support system- Family and Friends.

Hang in there, Jessica. Cancer is a scary word but everyone's cancer journey is different. My mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3C at the age of 39. This was in 1997 and treatment options were exceptionally limited. It was basically surgery and very toxic chemotherapy, that was it. I will tell you just from experience and from working in medicine that there are so many new targeted treatment options available as far a chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, etc that are so much less toxic and don't cause as many side effects. And this goes for all different kinds of cancers not just ovarian, so if it turns out to be something else just know that there are treatment options. One thing I would recommend (and this was something that my mom was great at) is becoming a staunch advocate for yourself and your healthcare. What do I mean? Ask questions, ask as many questions as possible. If you don't like a doctor's answers, find a new one. Get as many second opinions as you want, go to a big cancer institution (MD Anderson, Mayo, UCLA, Memorial Sloan Kettering), ask about clinical trials. If you're in pain tell your doctor, if you're nauseated tell your doctor. Just advocate for yourself. As for those medical bills, because of the No Surprises Act which became law this year, the out of network surgeries or physicians/surgeons that you saw cannot be billed as out of network because this was an emergency situation and you would have no way of knowing those physicians or services being provided would be out of network. You also did not have a choice in the matter because again this was an emergency, so they CANNOT bill you as an out of network service. You're right that you will still owe your max out of pocket amount for the year, but don't let the hospital dick you around and say they are out of network. All you have to say is "No Surprises Act", and all hospitals are REQUIRED to follow this law or face hefty fines and penalties such as losing the ability to be reimbursed my Medicare/Medicaid. I know I'm a complete stranger, but I wanted to leave you some encouragement because your story resonated with me and I know my mom would have wanted me to show you some kindness and send support through the computer to you. Also, when she was diagnosed in 1997 she was given 6 months to live....she lived for 17 years. Doctors don't get to make that decision for you

Just came came across ur page today. I’m recovering from chemo, and my story is similar to urs. I’m 31, diagnosed with stg 3 ovarian germ cell cancer. My life changed in a matter of days. Went into surgery expecting laparoscopic, but my mass was 20cm. I had a full hysterectomy. My journey is very new, and chemo was hell. But I can say, I’m feeling stronger and better now that I’m recovering. There are so many woman that have similar situations as us. I’ve found strong cancer community on Tik tok. Jessica, I know you can do this! I know you can do this, because 3 years ago I began a very similar cancer journey. I had several rounds of chemo, and 25 radiation treatments. Afterwards I began my whole food, plant-based diet, and you and Brian have helped inspire and encourage me! You are so blessed to have Brian and your Mom, and the other wonderful people in your life. Just picked my brother up from the hospital after cancer surgery, lost my Father and Sister in 2000 from cancer. It's unnerving and all encompassing, Although we move on...

I had thyroid cancer at 34 and it was taken out. Did fine. My son in his 20’s has it and is still dealing with it….but, we are positive. So, hang in there staying positive! And, I believe in prayer power. Keeping you in my prayers to come out of this fully healed. Easier said than done, I know, but look at all these wonderful hopeful comments of survivors and lots of love!

Jessica, I’ll just add to the many replies : hang in there ! I’m 21 yrs cancer free after being diagnosed at age 36 !! My kids were 5 and 12 . - I had no choice I needed to fight through. And I did! Then in 2016 ( 15 yrs on, ) diagnosed with breast cancer at stage 00. A mastectomy later , And here I am today . The GranB of a Bonny boy ( the love of my life!) And still going strong! Chin up girl, with the improvement in treatment you stand a much better chance than I did in 2001. I’ll be praying for you. 🙏🙏

Hi Jessica, I remember this time in my life! Wow! So scary & heart wrenching especially for a Mom. I was 42yrs old & diagnosed with a terminal form of Breast Cancer Triple Neg- in 2010 the outcome was grim. Guess what? I’m still here. Lots of hard hard work with Chemo, radiation and surgeries. I was diagnosed with breast cancer about a month ago and having surgery tomorrow. It's a emotional Rollercoaster.

I went in for a routine hysterectomy. The surgeon couldn't get the probes in. Found I had cervical and ovarian cancer. Had my appendix removed, scraped my intestines, removed omentum, full hysterectomy, and several other things. 6 years later, I'm in remission and mine is a very rare cancer. You got this girl.. I was diagnosed in March with invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 2A.. I had both breast removed, they took 18 lymph nodes 2 had cancer. We can fight this and win.. 🤩💖

Having cancer was the most lonely feeling I’ve ever had. At the end, when I truly thought it was the end. Dearest Jessica- get yourself a beautiful notebook to record all your doctor visits and information. I did this when I had breast cancer in 2006. It really helped to record the facts and to help keep them straight and to throw in how I was feeling. You can do this and we are all with you. I am a retired RN. At age of 38 the same thing happened to me. Mine was on right ovary. After the ovary was removed I had a later surgery for a complete hysterectomy removing everything including cervix. As I said I am now retired. There are so many more options now and you will get through this! You are asking the right questions and following Dr advice.

About 35 years ago my brother went through liver cancer. It was discovered during a gall bladder surgery. Doctors said it was too far gone to do much about it. But, eventually about half his liver was taken out, and he was given about three months to live. He went through a VERY difficult time. But, as I said that was 35 years ago. Praise the Lord my brother is still here with us! Be strong, girl and may the Lord bless you with many more years of life.

I was diagnosed with cancer when my girls were toddlers and my son was 5 months old. I was 27… I’m 25 years older now and wow! What a journey it’s been!! Yes! Not letting the cancer control life is a good goal, but realizing it’s the number one focus to HEAL and be kind to YOU, is very important. It’s hard to do that for women who have families and I pray you have strong family support. That means everything. It isn’t brave if you aren’t scared!! Just keep swimming!! I survived triple negative breast cancer 4 years ago. Now I am fighting leukemia which started late last year, and I am in remission now. The shock of the diagnosis and unknown of being thrown into the cancer community can be some of the worst times. Remember that you are a fighter and you are loved ❤️. Thyroid cancer survivor here, 44 y/o. Thank you for sharing your story. I had my thyroid removed 3 years ago at 41 y/o, after removal they told me they found a large but slow growing cancer in my thyroid. It was a very backwards situation for me because I found out after the cancer was removed. I went through radiation therapy. And luckily the cancer did not spread to my lymph nodes. So as of today I am cancer free and being monitored by my doctor. I am still considered a stage 1 cancer patient. If I am still cancer free at 5 years after removal. I am an official cancer survivor. You have support here. Cancer is scary but it can be survivable. Follow your doctors orders and live light heartedly each day.

You got this! My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in early Dec last year. It had metastasized into his lymph nodes and his liver. The mass was large enough that it had almost completely blocked his colon and a week before Christmas he had colostomy surgery. He has since had a week of radiation and just finished 18 weeks of chemo. He has had some more scans and we see his surgeon this week for more info. We are in Canada so very grateful we won't be seeing a huge medical bill when all is said and done. Be blessed and strong, you may have cancer, but it doesn't have you.

This is a very long story … Brian can read it to you if needed 💕❤️🙏🏼 I hope as you read this, you’re able to be as comfortable and as pain free as possible…. and also feel our love to you from the comments and our prayers (if that resonates with you, if not… our happy, well wishes 💕❤️🙏🏼) I wanted to tell you about my gramma… I’m 52…. And when I was a wee little girl, just age 6 My beautiful gran was diagnosed with colon cancer…. Hers was just like yours, but opposite (if that makes sense)…. In other words hers started in her colon but wrapped around her uterus, bladder, ovaries…. Etc… my gran was 58 at the time of diagnosis….. It was an incredibly difficult surgery and recovery…. It ended up being stage 4 colon cancer…. Lots of lymph nodes removed and 15 inches of her colon…They gave her heavy doses of radiation, 2 1/2 years of chemo and endless drugs of Lord know what….. Yet she had the most positive attitude of anyone I’ve ever met…. I literally worshiped her, the literal ground she walked on, she was my most favorite human in the entire world…. My gran knew this and knew that at just age 6, I couldn’t handle the diagnosis that she had been dealt…. So she didn’t tell me…. I was just so little….I had no clue…no one told me… What follows is one of the funniest moments in my entire life…(not funny then, but funny now)…. This story is still told at our yearly family gatherings 😐😬…. It’s kinda a side story, to the story I’m trying to tell you. Maybe Brian can read this to you, as it may be long. A bed time story of sorts… with a super happy ending 💕❤️🙏🏼 I grew up on my grandparents farm… as I mentioned my gran had been diagnosed with colon cancer…. Had all the treatments imaginable as per 1976 standards….the works…. Of course all her hair fell out…. Every bit of it…. Now as I had mentioned above, I was just 6 and had no clue about said hair loss or cancer…my gran was a very beautiful woman, even at 58 and she knew it (my 85 year old mother still jokes that my gran never passed a mirror without looking at herself 😜)… so of course my gran got a beautiful wig, it 100% looked like her real hair… it was incredibly expensive and looked amazeballs…. One night, 2 years into my grans cancer journey, it was in the winter and now I was 8 years old… we were driving back to the farm from Mass (my gran was a very devout Catholic) we went to Mass 3 times a week, and when she couldn’t go due to being so sick from the chemo…. The priest would come and offer her communion at the farm. So it was winter and pitch black outside, no moon light even….. we pull up to the farm and park the car in the open barn, where the car used to be parked… We get out of the car and walk up to the porch…. It was a little covered porch area that was screened off…. It had a ramp, like a wheelchair ramp that went up to the house….we noticed that gramps forgot to turn the light on for us…. I shut the screen door behind me, so we were inside the pitch black screened off little porch…. My gran reaches up to turn on the light with the old fashioned pull light, the string kind…. She pulls the string and the light goes on…. At that exact moment 5,678 moths start flying all around us….. they had somehow got trapped inside the little screened off porch…. My gran and I both begin screaming and in grans struggle…. She accidentally flips her wig off……. It was like slow motion…. My mouth hangs open….. I no longer cared about the moths flying all around us. My little mind was racing….”How can my grans hair be on the ground?”…… (I didn’t even know what a wig was!!) …..my gran is bald!! What is happening?? “How does hair just fall off?” “What is this trickery?” “What’s happening”….. so my little face had just a look of total shock…. Mouth still open….I just stood there, eyes wide and blinking fast “blink, blink, blink”….. so my gran by now is hysterically laughing….. I mean like pee your pants laughing…. I’m still traumatized and a tear rolls down my cheek….. so confused….. “what’s happening”… so gran finally gets the door open and we go in somehow, without letting all the moths in( they never locked their doors 45years ago, out in the country)….. So we get in the house…. She puts her wig back on, bends down and says “teence (my nic name)…. It’s time to tell you that I have had cancer, I have had cancer treatment….that’s why I’ve been so sick… it made my hair fall out…. But I kicked it’s ass, it won’t be back, it doesn’t live here any more… I didn’t tell you because you’re such a kind hearted person, and I knew you couldn’t bare it, but don’t you worry, it won’t be back and I’m going to be just fine”……I had never, a day in my life heard my gran swear…. Or even raise her voice…. And she said a swear and she said ass !! I was just so lost, so confused, so scared “why doesn’t gran have hair, will I get cancer and my hair fall out? Is it like the flu? What is happening”?????? “What is cancer? Is it bad” I had so many questions and my gran answered all of them so sweetly with a smile and giggled when I asked silly questions that an 8 year old would ask.. Gran didn’t wear her wig that night…. She said it felt good to not have “that itchy thing on”… I could not stop staring at her bald head… even bald she was still so beautiful 💕❤️ We played crazy 8’s until late into the night that night…like we always did when she felt well enough too…and she would occasionally burst out laughing…. 😜🥸😬…. Especially after I said “I can’t believe your bald gramma, and that uncle Bud has more hair than you “ it was a family joke about uncle Bud being bald in his early 30’s …. We all gave him a hard time about it…. He was a good sport about it….of course she had to call and tell him that I said this, because she thought it was hilarious….. it didn’t matter that it was to late to call…. If the joke was good enough, gran called you to tell it to ya 😂 Fast foreword 32 years later, to 2005, my beautiful gran passed away of old age at 92, the saddest day of my life…. My beautiful gran got to see me get married….. have 4 beautiful babies…. Spend 31 Thanksgivings with us…. And Easter’s….. and Christmas’s ….. we made so many memories together and my 3 oldest kids, have wonderful memories of her!! She was diagnosed at age 58 with stage 4 colon cancer…. Given Less than a 10% chance of surviving …. All her lymph nodes in her groin were removed (tho this did cause her problems with lympthodema (sp?) in her left leg for the rest of her life)…. Small price to pay!!! ….. she not only lived but thrived!! She was happy until her dying day at age 92… she passed from natural causes…. In case you are wondering, she did mostly eat plant based…. If offered meat, she wouldn’t be rude, she would eat it…but she mostly ate plant based her whole life…. I would describe her diet as very Mediterranean ….Lots and lots of beans, veggies, tons of potatoes and lots of fermented foods such as sauerkraut and other veggies and also fresh pasta (we are Austrian, from near the Italian border, my grandparents came to Oregon in 1937 and used the national homesteading act to purchase their property ) …. I hope my grandmas story inspires you and gives you encouragement…. Because it can happen for you too, think of how much better the treatment is now, 45 years later even!! My grandma thrived and so can you!! We will kick cancers ass with you! I didn't realize you guys started WFPB in June of 2018! I started in August that year! I've been following your KZfaq channel for a while now, but now I feel even more connected to you. This is the first comment I've ever left you. I watched your hospital videos and cried for you. Don't worry about this becoming a cancer channel! Sheesh. We wanna know! Also, we can all dive into learning about cancer and diet together. This is making me a much more faithful viewer, I can tell you. Sending you ALL the good thoughts.

Jessica, My prayers are with you and Brian! I survived colon cancer 3 years ago. It is hard to accept help but no guilt. You give to us all of the time!

I am relatively new to your channel and just want you to know that as a cancer survivor of 16 years I understand the emotions you are going through. I was so scared in the beginning but once I had all my reports in and I had a treatment plan, I felt in more control. You are blessed to have a wonderful husband and support system and never be afraid to ask for help. Just so you know, the American Cancer Society has something called Hope Lodge which is housing for people undergoing treatment away from their home in another city. I know there are 30 Hope Lodges. Once you find out what your plan is and where you treatment will be, you may want to see if there is a Hope Lodge. I know an application has to be submitted. It is free and a family member can obviously stay with you. Although it won't be easy, you can do this. I will keep you in my prayers.

Jessica and Brian, you are in our prayers. Having gone through cancer, I can tell you the road ahead is going to be a journey. It is going to be just as hard on Brian as it is for you as he will be your most important care giver. Please look into cancer treatment centers of America. I went to them for most of my treatments and what I loved about them was; you didn’t have to make many decisions, they set up a plan for you and lead you through everything. They do the whole big picture not just leave you in a guessing game of what do I do next. If finances are a problem, they can help send you in the right direction for help. There are people who donate and if needed, you can set up a go fund me page and I know your tube followers will be able to help. Please don’t be too proud to do that. The last thing you two need to worry about is how your going to pay for treatment. Take it one little step at a time. No matter which way you plan on going, just know you have to do what you believe is best for you. God bless you both and know you are in our prayers. I was never a real religious person before but I can honestly say, when there was a prayer chain that my friends started for me, I felt those prayers and it gave me comfort that no matter what happens God is there.

So sorry you have entered this journey. I too have OC stage 3C for a year. After chemo and surgery and now more chemo I feel a lot better than I did when first diagnosed. There is always hope, teal sister. Will be watching and praying for you. There is no test or exam for OC its discovered. Women need to insist on ultrasounds if they think anything is up. It affects the young as well as older women. Celebrate the little joys, be kind to yourself. During chemo stay hydrated. Every cancer is uniqiue, hope your therapies are successful. I had stage 3C colon cancer and strangely enough a cantaloupe size mass that turned out to be unrelated, in an ovary. Doctor removed 2 feet of colon (didn't need a colostomy thankfully), my appendix because it was attached and I had a total hysterectomy. 3 years out and I'm cancer free! AND I was unable to have chemo after my first dose because I had an anaphylactic reaction. I was 39 at diagnosis. You've got this! I'm praying for you!

I originally watched because I wanted to lose weight. But as time went on, I watched because I fell in love with your kind spirits. There are no guarantees in this life. I just started following you and plan on continuing. I feel somewhat guilty because I am a senior and am still in such good health. I don't think at 36 I could be as strong as you. Bless you girl. I will begin praying for you and will continue to pray for you. Just continue to stay as positive and hopeful as you can. You have a great support system and that is the most important element in life, isn't it. My son is a year younger than you and he has health issues he has struggled with since 14. It's been difficult. Now there are new issues. I just hope and pray he can be as positive as you. Stay strong.

Thank goodness you had that fall from the bike. It was a blessing in disguise. I appreciate you sharing everything. I have had cancer and I always, always worry about recurrence! I go through the whole thought process like you do: second guessing myself, trying to rationalize away my symptoms etc etc. You are encouraging me and justifying my need to be persistent with my concerns and not let the doctors minimize my symptoms!! I had what's considered an incurable cancer...yet 12 years later I'm still NED. Newer treatments are crazy good. A lot of cancers turning into long term illnesses not a death sentence.

I had stage IV ovarian cancer (clear cell adenocarcinoma) diagnosed at age 31 less than a week after giving birth to my first child. I had symptoms throughout my pregnancy but it started out as an ovarian cyst on my left ovary, seemed total normal until about six months into my pregnancy, it grew to a ridiculous size. They couldn’t get it out during my c-section and were shocked at what they found when they opened me up to deliver my baby. They call ovarian cancer the silent killer because there are very subtle signs and symptoms, such as bloating, feeling full quickly, fatigue - all things that we associate with our normal periods. There’s no test that exists for ovarian cancer, with the exception of a CA125 count, which isn’t really definitive and very subjective. My CA125 only ever reached the mid 60s while I knew other people had numbers in the high hundreds or even thousands. The typical CA125 range is 35 and below and can be run with regular blood work. I’m hoping the pathology comes back soon for you so they can get a treatment plan together. Please hang in there! I’m 3.5 years in remission, so it’s possible.

Praying for you ❤️ my oldest son has been eating plant based for a few months now, I have really seen such a positive outcome both physically and mentally. I eat a lot more plant based myself now . He’s a radiation oncology nurse . I also was a radiation therapist, now retired . I’m so sorry you’re going through this, and I know you’re scared .
