#JeffKendallWeed #HydrationPacks #mountainbikepacks
I’ve been wearing 4 different hydration packs for mountain biking this summer, and after quite a few rides in each one, am happy to share my experiences for all of you! I’ve been using an Osprey Syncro 5, Camelbak Mule Pro, USWE Airborne 15, and USWE Vertical 10 hydration packs, as reviewed in the video, and all are available here via my affiliate links:

This is indeed a review, and there are aspects of all these packs that I very much do appreciate. The little Osprey is VERY comfortable, and for anyone riding in super hot and humid conditions, the Osprey is an excellent choice. Downsides to the Osprey are that it is not as locked in place and stable as the other units.
The smaller USWE is great, but the internal cargo can slosh around within the pack, making it feel like it’s not as secure. Also, there is minimal contents division or organization, so your stuff is going to be in a pile- and at risk of puncturing that bladder.
The larger USWE is great as well, and while it does have some compression straps, it’s pretty hot and heavy on your back. I just returned from a week long road trip to the hottest parts of WA state with this pack, and it worked great for carrying a ton of stuff. I do wish it had an Osprey style floating air support back pad, but that’s my main gripe.
The Camelbak is one that I’m quite familiar with, though it seems Camelbak has tried unsuccessfully to imitate Osprey’s air pad system. As a result, the rigid plastic back piece can fold incorrectly and becomes very uncomfortable. Despite that, the pack itself is fantastic. Throw a Hydrapak bladder in there, and dial in the Osprey styled back panel, and it’d be a great option.
Big shout to my sponsors! Thanks to Jenson USA, PNW Components, Industry Nine, and Shimano- and any purchases from the below links to Jenson USA will help support my channel:
