Yes, the Verizon class action lawsuit settlement email is real

A settlement has been reached in a $100 million class action lawsuit that claims Verizon misled wireless customers in the U.S. by charging a monthly administration fee that “was unfair and not adequately disclosed,” according to Top Class Actions. Verizon has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case.
In early January, multiple Reddit users wanted to know if emails they recently received about the settlement were real.
“Did anyone else receive an email about this?” one Reddit user asked. A member of the VERIFY team also got the email.
Emails related to the Verizon class action lawsuit settlement are legitimate, according to the official settlement website.
The settlement class includes anyone who received postpaid wireless or data services from Verizon and paid an administrative charge or administration and telco recovery charge between Jan. 1, 2016 and Nov. 8, 2023, according to the settlement website. Those who are eligible, per Verizon's records, should receive a notice of the settlement either by email or mail. A postpaid service is a traditional contract, as opposed to a prepaid service plan.
You can file a claim online via the settlement website or by mail. You must submit a valid claim by April 15, 2024, to receive payment from the settlement.

My phone bill is $119.00 for January but for Jan and February 3rd is a total of $279.00, I was told that I was 5 months behind. Now if I was 5 months behind I wouldn't be typing you on it.

They just let me know they’ll be raising my bill $4/mo. That should be illegal as well. They shouldn’t be allowed to raise everyone’s bill to cover for their mistakes. Basically the company is never held financially responsible for their actions.

I’m sooo pissed !! I can’t even pay my bill online!! Bc of a weird keyboard that comes up blocking me to my pay my phone bill like I have since 2020 and never missed a payment ever. N it’s bc of the hacking. It’s not normal to stalk and torture others. and this is illegal and wrong on so many levels invasion of privacy and security. I have been trying for over hour to sign administrative class claim lawsuit and with the 100 million lawsuit and my phone blocks me. I unfortunately am a victim of data breaches and part of the solution

6-12 months after the settlement has received final approval. Very lengthy process, we know. But, patience is 🔑!

Never give up your bank information. Opt for a check if you’re going to opt to be a part of the settlement. Notice you’re only receiving a MAXIMUM of $100 one time payment. The lawyers overseeing the suit are the only ones that will really profit from this settlement. The lawyers are using Verizon Wireless customers to make millions while they give $100 or less..it states it can be less than $100.00. All this lawsuit is doing is making the lawyers richer while Verizon Wireless will make their money back by charging current and future customers more money to use their services. It might not be a scam but it might as well be a scam from the attorneys representing the suit. Also be careful of other people sending fake emails and texts trying to profit from the real lawsuit. DO NOT EVER GIVE YOUR BANKING INFORMATION TO ANYONE!

Yep, and now they are raising their prices to cover that lawsuit. So we are now paying for everyone who gets a refund. Good going. So go ahead and collect that 100.00 bucks or less, and we who have Verizon services will just go elsewhere for phone services. As we are footing that bill. So something to think about.

I’m not running to other companies like I have for years insuring my data is protected Verizon will remain my phone carrier after this issue is resolved. Im part of the vilomce against women act and my rights have to be protected
