I sometimes wonder what Joel thinks of all the petty squabbling, political unrest, infighting, and people squawking about having to get shots and wear masks for the sake of public safety and individual responsibility to others. While they go on and on about their Constitutional freedoms (to infect and be infected?) being violated, I would imagine it must look ridiculous to him, since he knows what REAL government repression and human rights violations are truly about. We must look like spoiled, entitled children.

I went to the 7th game of the 1987 world series at the Metrodome in Minneapolis when I was 6 years old and saw my state's Minnesota Twins with Kirby Puckett win their first Series in Franchise history. My mom won 7th game tickets in a work raffle and my mom was yelling at the TV for all of game 6 because if they didn't win that game first the series would have been over and we wouldn't have had a 7th game to go see. A once in a lifetime thing for a single working mom with a young son who can't afford to buy series tickets.

Nothing like a bark and a choke at the ballpark. Seriously this is my favorite video of the series. In my lifetime I have had my fair share of conversations with Cubans about baseball and it ain't no joke. Ball is life. To see a Cuban take in his first baseball game is magical. I got emotional watching it. And that's not an easy feat. I think I got emotional because I know how much it probably meant to him because of my experience with other Cubans. I recently took my 73-year-old father to his first San Francisco 49ers football game. He grew up in Monterey California and has for as long as there has been a San Francisco franchise, been a fan. Seeing him when he so I'll Levi's stadium for the first time, I saw that same look in this video......

@@rodrigoduran7481 "Beyond a comment," yet you still commented. Interesting. It's totally okay that you don't understand what a communist political system looks like, or what Cuba's actual political system actually is. I never said Cuba wasn't a communist country, in fact, I specifically mentioned that in my first reply. Being a unitary Marxist-Leninist state, the government controls everything as it is, and opposed to countries with standard socialist systems in play, where things are fine (such as Denmark or Norway). The problems Cuba faces are uniquely due to government overreach and the resulting corruption of their leaders, also observable in Venezuela and China, for example. An education beyond primary school would suit you well if you're going to attempt to throw out words like ignorance and stupidity, yet know nothing of the governments of which you speak. Try again, and come back with something beyond ad hominem.

Your videos make me cry, however, tears of happiness. Canadian here, been to Cuba 5 times, loved it, and the people. But I knew what hardships they faced. Am so very happy for Yoel that he can finally experience the things he loves. Great video's, but still tearing up!

This was absolutely precious to see. I knew that Yoell would love a baseball ⚾ game. It is my hope and prayer that he is able to enjoy many more of them in America. I think that a whole lot of people in this country should look at the way Yoel reacted to the national anthem, and perhaps they would have some greater appreciation for this if they could see it through his eyes.

There is something truly magical in experiencing your first game in a big league stadium! I was an adult when my husband took me to a Dodger game in LA. He was a fan of the Dodgers since age 5 when he first visited Chavez Ravine… Dodger land. I will never forget what it felt like… the fans, the sounds, the smells, the atmosphere was like a circus, a festive holiday, on a warm summer evening. So much excitement and happiness all crowded together, you felt like you were among the best of friends. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us, brought back many precious memories.

No matter who you are or how many times you've been to a stadium, when you get inside from the glare of the outside sun and see the field for the first time, you are stunned! It's a mass of emerald green; bright and beautiful, different from any other place. Filled with tons of people all with the same ENERGY. The same GOAL. And for that night or afternoon, all ONE BIG FAMILY!!! The feeling is like no other. Thanks Yoel and Mari for showing it from beginning to end!

Awesome, just awesome! ❤❤❤ Seeing this through Yoel's eyes makes me realize how very fortunate I was as a kid, because my father, who is also an immigrant, owned a restaurant very close to Fenway Park in Boston, and I got to go to games all the time. It is something I DEFINITELY took for granted! I love seeing your journey, it should be required viewing for every spoiled American like me! The perfect reminder of how blessed we truly are and what we are in danger of losing. God bless you!
