No doubt! Most KZfaqrs only show stuff once they are good at it. This is a great reminder that everyone has to start somewhere, and everyone sucks at some things at some times no matter how good they are at other things.

Dear Shintaro: I have been a Judoka for 58 years and a yoga acharya (yogi) for 41 years. You suffered throughout the video and made me concerned about your flexibility and overall health. Give it a try to Asanas, Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Dhyana (Meditation). Thanks for sharing. I am your big fan. Special thanks to the beautiful yoga teacher Grace Jolicoeur! Namaste!!🥰💙

One of the most important things you can do to prevent injury is yoga. It can't be stressed enough how overlooked flexibility is for any martial arts (or just anyone who sits in front of a computer all day). Additionally the flexibility from yoga will really help with recovery when you do pull something. And finally when you do this to yourself, it doesn't hurt anywhere near as much when someone else does it to you. ;) Great video.

Very good yoga instructor. She ties the moves to specific techniques in BJJ and Judo, and explains what each move is accomplishing physiologically.

I am so thankful to have found this video. As a 52 year old grappler, I am stiff all over. My warmup process before training involves extensive stretching. I learned a few new things here that will be so helpful. Thank you!

What does Yoga do for Judo?
@HughesMotorized10 ай бұрын
It makes you more limber,, less likely to get injured and strengthens you
@Sam-rb1id10 ай бұрын
I think probably better flexibility and isometric core strength would be a good way to prevent certain injury types. I have thought about trying to start yoga once a week on an off day for this reason (as well as general quality of life and longevity). BTW I am middle aged - if you are young you may already have enough elasticity in your tendons and muscles for doing yoga to not be a huge contributing factor (just guessing not an expert!)
@1massboy10 ай бұрын
As an older guy. I can tell you that any type of stretching helps a lot.
@HughesMotorized10 ай бұрын
@@Sam-rb1id I'm 63 and that yoga helps. I haven't done Judo in forever. Hoping to work my way back into it
@gentianalutea825310 ай бұрын
As far as I know, increasing your flexibility and your mobility helps you to avoid certain injuries and to unlock more movement amplitude which eventually allow you to fully use your power.
