In this yoga Nidra practice, you will be gently guided to connect with yourself in a deep and profound way. By acknowledging every layer of the self, you not only begin to calm the nervous system, you move into the alpha brainwave state, the space between sleep and dreaming. Here, you can begin to rewire your brain and live from your aligned self. To increase the potency of this practice, you will work with your own Sankalpa (ancient Sanskrit word representing a "Seed of Intention"). It is an I AM declaration to self that resonates deeply. Your sankalpa will be used at the beginning and end of your practice. The more you practice, the more you begin to synchronize with your new belief. When this happens you shift your inner world which inevitably shifts your outer world.
My wish is for each practice to bring more resolve as you work with your truest heart-felt desires. You are worthy of your fullest potential!

I have listened to your yoga nidras since November almost every night. Otherwise I’m sure I would have needed painkillers and antidepressants. I have slept well before and needed total quietness but too much happened the last few years and the anxiety made it hard to sleep. Thank you so much for your work ❤🙏🏻🌜✨

What is the purpose of having us feel cruelty? Did I miss something? And after you just had us return to a normal state. I don't understand what that was about. Could you explain the purpose of that?😢

Manomaya Kosha... the emotional body... in this space, we sense a range of opposites. If we did not know cruelty, we would not know how beautiful kindness is. When we practice feeling opposites it becomes mental fitness for the waking world. As you strengthen your ability to observe what arises, the premise is that when you are met with cruelty in the waking world you will now be able to also sense its opposite. Oftentimes, those who are cruel have not been met with much kindness and gifting kindness is a beautiful thing... and gifting ourselves kindness when the inner dialogue is cruel us also a special thing. I hope that helps.

Is that the point? I flew out of trance when I realized I was being told to feel cruelty. Please ayla, why are you telling us to feel this? In another I thought you were telling me to feel malice! Why in the world are you doing this,? Please respond, because you were my favorite until now.......

I love yoga nidra. I do many of yours. But this one just didn't work for me. Why ask me to count back from 99 to ZERO (at the pace you set), if you're only going to interrupt this at around 90... And the moment you brought "cruelty" into my awareness (when I'm trying to calm from stress) - that was too much. Maybe I just don't get it. But this was a very irritating practice. It's a shame because it's one of the only videos where your voice is relaxed and not forced. Sorry for the negative feedback. My time is so limited - so choosing a video, only to be upset and more stressed after reaching 38 minutes, I can't afford that. 😢

I used to feel irritated during other yoga nidras when that happened in the past, but again, the goal is to just be aware of what arises within you and remain a silent witness. The numerical count is not important as a counted breath is merely a technique to induce a deeper level of relaxation, and other guides in more modernized versions have you count back down from 11, 10, or 7 possibly to not overwhelm or irritate listeners. If it is accessible to you, don't fixate on the number or the instruction, and simply do your best to follow along as best as you can in the moment.
