Make polymer clay covered crochet hooks! It's fun and easy. In this video I will teach you how to make a simple swirl pattern clay crochet hook cover. These hooks are then baked in the oven at a low temperature. You can use whatever colors you like. I used 2 colors but you can use more if you like or make it all one solid colors. I hope you enjoy this video. Please be sure to subscribe and hit the like button. The products used in this video are available at your local crafts stores. If you prefer to purchase online I have included the links below to my virtual store. If you purchase thru these links I will receive a small commission that allows me to keep providing free videos for all of you. Thank you so much for your support.

I found a way to make the clay harder, the moment that you take clay out of oven immerse in very cold water. Gives it a hard texture. I keep a jar of water in fridge labeled poison on fridge door and it works very well. Give it a try, you only have to leave it in water for a few seconds. Debbie

Cheap, flexible cutting boards from the dollar store is much easier than the wax paper for working on. They usually come in packages with three or five, and you can keep one just for white. :) Just make sure to use one with a flat, non-texture surface.

Great idea Yolanda, thanks. Those metal hooks can be tricky to grip, espesh the smaller ones, and I find the hooks with a plastic handle are too short, so this is the perfect solution.

I literally just did this to all of my crochet hooks about 4 days ago with Sculpey clay and I LOVE it! I'm wishing I'd seen your tutorial before I had done them all but not for the reasons everyone would think.....mine look really cool, (next time I'm doing the swirl pattern, that's wicked cool!) but I had the hardest time engraving the hook size with my yarn needle (of course mine are all sizes like 6.5 mm, 0.75 mm..nothing simple like a letter size lol!) but your technique really looked much nicer! Btw, I absolutely LOVE your tutorials! I've made at least 6 of the Easy Beret's....all in different colors & I've even crocheted matching scrunchies to go with them all and now I'm working on matching scarves/gloves! Keep up the excellent work, you ROCK!
