Mandawuy Yunupingu was the lead singer here. His 'mob' were from Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia. He was also a teacher and school principal with a BA in Education. He died at the age of 56 years from kidney disease which is prevalent in some aboriginal communities. This song was 'Song of the Year' at the 1992 ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards. .Paul Kelly helped to write the song.
