Quoting Vagabond: "Do you see how infinite you are?". We are infinite and labels limit us and makes us become stagnant. Labelling ourselves as victims makes us one, while letting our identity flow and grow makes us infinite beings, able to learn from any difficulty or wrongdoing. Being a victim might bring pity which feels good in the short run, but keeps us looking for more pain and pity. Learning and expanding bring us closer to others and to us. It makes us whole, compassionate, joyful.

I remember when I helped a friend who tried to unalive himself cause he was having bad luck with women. Even though he would always threaten that for attention. So he got checked into a mental hospital where I was his friend on call for a long time. When he got out he was hard to be around, he bought pepper spray and threatened people with it after he would antagonize them and they told him to back off. I called him out on his behavior and told him why I didn’t want to be his friend anymore. He tried shaming me back telling me I had a “victims” mindset. I told him “no dude, I’m refusing to be a victim”. Not my fault he couldn’t behave himself or act normal.

I feel it's not so much that you weren't victimised but that your wounds aren't ultimately detrimental to you because in end you alchemised the experience into compassion/wisdom so you end up with net character gains and can help those in similar situations too (purpose). I think it's really beautiful to see you so defiant about being called a victim though. To me that's the part of you speaking that's directly oppositional to wounding. Kinda like a fierce self compassion. You spoke before on struggling with passivity so it must be nice to feel that aspect of your character start to develop and shine through ❤🎉.

@hikaritu5 күн бұрын
Man this really hit. The victim mindset yet understandable how it got developed by a past experience, but if one allows the past to still linger, they will carry it into the present, therefore giving it your power. What we tell ourselves is a cautious moment as well, so the more someone says they’re a victim, the more the ego is going to look for the things in life that can make them believe it’s true. Just repeating the cycle. It also takes them away from enjoying what’s truly in front of them. Even more, it takes them away from themselves. There is never anything wrong with you, we just need to reclaim our power back by learning instead of holding on to old stories. Acceptance, forgiveness and letting go can help what is done set you free. It takes time, but you who’s reading, can definitely do it. You’ve always had that version of yourself with you, someone who’s capable of greatness. 🤍 and if anyone can do it, it’s always been you ~

depends on the context, im happy you have reached those conclusions but they arent applicable to me. i failed to live up to certain standards for an extended period of time, therefore im no longer entitled to certain things in life, and those are what makes life worth living, at least for me. if it were otherwise doing what is right would have no intrinsic value. i can do all the things you say, and i try/do, but no amount of progress will ever grant me a life i need/want past this point. i would like to be wrong but im afraid im not however i still wouldnt want someone else to sympathize with this viewpoint. perhaps my future holds something akin to what you are doing except with a dont end up like me twist, liked and subbed btw.

I kind of like my wounds, idk if they will stay here forever. They teach me. They make me feel. I love feeling. Hurt is when I praise God the most. I think we need to love our wounds enough to let them go. Letting go of things that hurt us can be hard, though I’m not sure if I have any experience to say that it is in fact hard, which I imagine is it very hard. And even if the wounds don’t go, we should become familiar with them enough to be used to them so that they don’t overly get in the way. Also, I may be too sleepy to be getting philosophical right now 💤

I am not a perfectionist, but one time I played a concert for a lot of people on guitar, and I've been practicing for months for this concert, and at the end everybody was telling me I did a good job but when I watch the video back I can't help myself from calling myself sloppy and being upset that it doesn't sound good enough to me although most of the other people enjoyed it. I learned to kind of accept it because man it's hard to play a solo perfectly with all that adrenaline loll. It is a good message, but ultimately some people are just weak and in love with their "victim mentality". Because the real issue with it is that "if you are NOT a victim, then some of the things that happened are also your responsibility to fix and deal with" and a lot of people would rather not do that, at all.

Being offended is not actually action from outside, but inside. We are being offended by contradiction between our inner picture of world, and outer experience. For example: "this person will never left me" >> he/she actually lefts you. This picture, that this person will NEVER left you, despite everything what happening in your or this persons life, is making you vulnerable. What can we do is not to build unrealistic dreams about world, and focus on ourselves, how WE should be. Don't think that this person dropped you, think that you didn't drop. Everyone has its own way, and we have obey it, if it makes us happy. So, the way i am coping with victim mindset is just that i am trying not to depend on the outer world, so be its victim, but create my own values, and regulate it, if it doesn't make me happy.

Today's input: I don't really know the name of this thing, there may not even be one, but this "victim" way of seeing the world is actually quite common. What you said throughout the video is quite acurrate, but maybe you overlooked a little bit too much the fact that... maybe someone HAS a reason to be a victim, but we may be seeing the term "victim" as different stuff. On the literal sense, a "victim" it's just someone that suffered something. You mean "victim" as in "victimism", wich is people that just play the role of a victim a lot, because of emotional gratitude. And well, aside from stuff like manipulation, narcissistic stuff, i think that someone kind of needs to play "victim" when something happens, the thing is how much. You can't just "thug it out" and keep going, even if you learnt from it, even if it wasn't something that killed you. I think that we should have our moments to be sad, and not necessarily even express it socially, just for us, just for a break. Having your guard up all the time, ignoring your own feelings and stuff like that is bad, but probably not as bad as someone who is a victimist.

My god people are weak nowadays. You can accept that you are a victim in a situation and still do everything you said. Accepting that you were a victim doesn't mean that you drop all your personal responsibilities and it doesn't mean you don't strive to improve yourself. Accepting that you are a victim to a situation is a simple way of pointing what was under your own predicament and power and what was beyond your predicament and power without getting to the extreme that you blame yourself for things you shouldn't. Blaming yourself for example for something as simple as being a kid with needs, something that is not only vital for an individuals growth but a basic human need, will only damage your long term positioning in the society and you will become the victim of your own overprotectiveness. People should grow up, gather the self respect to go and see a therapist, accept that as a human you need help, accept that you are not perfect and asking for help is the most humane thing ever and stop trying to be a delusional brick.
