I miss this in the Simpsons. Marge and Homer don't even seem to like each other anymore.

Remember when Homer was a real human with human thoughts and feelings? Shit like this is what made the simpsons.

This moment is so simple, so viscerally raw with Homer's insecurities being soothed with a simple "lullaby", that it waters my eyes each time I see it. It is my favorite Simpsons moment by far, so much so that I actually sung to my ex one night, and it made him smile.

I came here after the pogo mix to see the context and it's just as heartwarming as the song.

The way homers mouth changed into a smile at 0:44 was sooo cute 🥺

Big salute to all the Dads out there who sat up late at night in a worry about their job and providing for their families. My dad worked a job he hated for 20 years just to provide for us. He managed to get his dream job long after me and my siblings grew up.

I love this little moment. I can definitely relate to Homer here, because I have self esteem issues, and tend to have a somewhat low opinion on myself. This scene is absolutely beautiful.

Watching this as a kid, it's just a cartoon. Watching this as a parent must be real life times ten.

This makes me emotional.

This show had heart. Real genuine heart about the struggles of an average American family. Little moments like this is what made the show. Homer & Marge weren't perfect people but it was the ups and downs of their marriage that gave the show the realism it needed to really resonate with people. I didn't get the show very well when I was a kid other than "Homer's silly! Bart is funny!" But now I'm like "same, homer, I feel like I'm stuck too & what I do isn't good enough & that no one will ever really love me."

THIS is why Simpson's were so EXCELLENT. Marge is just so BEAUTIFUL as a person. Homer is one LUCKY Dawg to have her man..

I like the small detail of when Marge hugs him his eyes are blinking and looking everywhere around the room in stress, until Marge starts singing and his eyes end focusing on nothing but her

I wish more people talked about this scene, its on the same tier as the ending of duffless in regards to how sweet it is

Yesterday, I told the guy I love “you are so beautiful to me,” and at first he thought I meant just his looks but I explained myself more. I told him that he’s the most beautiful human being to me because he cherishes simplicity, he’s patient, kind, and understanding. I admire everything about him. (I could really go on). He then said, “that’s the best thing anyone has ever told me.”

This scene always makes me cry. So sweet. We should all be so lucky to find a love like this

I don't care what anyone says, this is one of the most beautiful moments the entire series. Before Matt Groening was able to pull on our heart strings with the futurama episode of fry's dog or Fry being able to tell his mother that he loved her in one of her dreams, this moment brought everyone to tears first.

This. I send this to my partner every time he feels upset and/or insecure about himself; we always chuckle that he's very much like Homer, always eating snacks, oblivious and kind of daft at times but I always comfort him like this reminding him that he's wise, kind, goofy, super sweet and that I love him more than anything in the world. He's a precious man, he is my Homer and I adore him

This moment kicks the last 10 seasons of the Simpsons. It's a shame that writers aren't able to create this kind of episodes.

Because that is what perfection is, the gross product of imperfections seen by another to be something that is one of a kind and irreplaceable.

I dont know much about this show, I'm just starting to watch it. So far I really like their family and how cute and silly they are, I always think about the old episodes with more feelings. I absolutely love Marge and Homer. I think that they are beautiful and they should always be together. I know that Homer does a lot of bad things here and some people even say they should divorce. But I honestly want to think that despite all of the flaws, homer is a good father and him and Marge are perfect for one another and they love eachother very much. I want to watch more of this show, especially the old episodes. And I wish to see more heart touching family moments like this with comedic elements without being more like a bad adult cartoon. ❤

I remember seeing these types of heartfelt scenes in the Simpson when i wae so little and it's crazy how I only remember the heart felt scenes of the Simpson as a adult this randomly popped up in my head today I haven't seen this episode in years this is the one that stayed in my memories for years

homer is not a perfect man or a great father but he remains loyal to Marge regardless of his downfalls and Marge loves homer despite his flaws. most people won't agree but they are a perfect couple.

Thanks for uploading It's special to you as a kid but watching these probably 20 years after this episode played....those magic 1-8 (9?) seasons aged for me like a fine wine. I can appreciate these more with age and time, not less.

I been watching the simpsons starting on episode 1 and the early episodes are truly the best. eventually it only becomes comedy. I feel like the new simpsons absolutely lost their touch. it's not as smooth anymore.

The first two seasons felt a lot more realistic, an animated sitcom with it’s fair share of serious moments, it wasn’t until season three where Homer became a lot more crazier.

pound for pound this is imo the best moment in the entire series because it shows something a lot of men deal with but are deeply afraid to admit, or simply cannot handle. self-image issues are a huge, huge deal that can impact every moment of your life and make you feel fat, ugly, worthless to everyone, like a failure. And often times we push that down and just live with it, angry, bitter, and sad because no one is around for us to actually talk to or be open with. Marge is doing something incredible here in making Homer not only feel better, but he happy with his own body and ability in life. Just because you're not a supermodel, or you're overweight, or you are bald, doesn't mean you don't have worth. But it also doesn't mean you shouldn't feel anything- It's your right to feel sad sometimes, or to need encouragement. There are a lot of toxic people who will tell you "Men shouldn't care what they look like" or "men shouldn't show their emotions" who are pathetic in their own right, and should be soundly ignored. Your self-esteem, self-image, etc issues are real, they're valid. If you have someone in your life who helps you through them like this you are very lucky.

Yesterday I got a music box for my b day and that was the song that played and i cryed

When was the last time you saw a scene like this were a man shows his insecurities and vulnerabilities to his woman and she actually cared enough to make him feel better by singing to him to tell him she loves him. This is the reason we don't open up about our feelings. Its super rare to see a woman of today be like this to a man who is hurting.

My ghost friend Mariam was severely burned in a funeral home fire, saving two children from there. This is due to helga losing her dad to a heart attack while he was sleeping. She was barely recognizable because of her new look and the daycare turned her down because of it. I then played this song around her one day and something I didn’t expect happened. She heard it. When she did, she lightened up and smiled.
