I just finished watching Hotarubi no mori e, and god, I'm an emotional wreck right now. The ending left me absolutely speechless, like after all this time, ALL THESE YEARS, she lost Gin just because he touched a damn human kid to prevent him from falling. But at least he got his wish to be touched by a human, and he got to touch the woman he had fallen in love with. I hope he's in a better place now.

The first time I heard this I was depressed. This is the first time I've heard it after recovery. I'm crying, this song means so much to me.

I struggle with my mental health and this song helped me start my recovery many years ago. Now I'm a year clean from bad habits I had, and this song came on my recommended list. Every day is still a challenge, and some are hard, but I manage so much better than I did all those years ago. I can truly thank forest of fireflies for introducing me to this song, and an old friend of mine who used to play it for me on the piano. This song will always be remembered.

So you’re strong enough to do this, no matter what. Stop self doubt, do as you please, YOU WILL ESCAPE FROM THE DEPRESSION THAT HOLDS YOU, you better believe me. I used to be in your place. I’m not anymore. I fought my own battle and I won. But if you can’t do it on your own, then do it with someone else. I believe in you. If nobody else said they loved you today, then remember, I DO. I always will. You can do this, I believe in you and I have so much faith in you, my love for you is high, idc if I don’t know you, you’re all my brothers and sisters. I promise you, things will get better within time, but in order to do that, you have to find a way to escape from the thing that’s holding you back, the past is the past, if you carry it with you, you’ll never escape. You need to focus on the present and future. I listened quite a lot to this song and cried thinking I would never get out of the slump. It is now 2023, and I found this song again by a coincidence - I just can't believe how far I've come. Though life is nowhere near "perfect", I am happy and content. If you're reading this, please, never give up - you can be king again :)

So ik the probability is high that nobody's going to read this, but anyways. I'm just getting out of an depression I've had for.... many years. Since I was about 14 or so... I'm 18 now. It really made my puberty years difficult. I was often on the verge of suicide. But two to three months back something clicked in my head. I don't know how I should explain it, but since then I've been feeling much better. Slowly, day by day, week by week, it was getting better, I felt better. Like, *happy*. I'm happy. With... living. It's extremely difficult to put it into words, but it's like, I didn't know you could feel *so good* all the time. And I've been enjoying every single second of it. I feel normal. It's so fucking weird. And in these past few months, I really feel like I'm "reclaiming my crown". To be me. To have fun. To be young and explore, idk. I just feel alive. I know this sounds weird, but there's been so few moments in the past few years where I've been genuinely happy and often just felt tired, sad and hopeless. And I'm asking myself: Do "normal" people always feel like this? Do they always feel so *comfortable* in their own skin? Must be a good life. So what I wanted to say was that this song helped me immensely in my depression. And today I've listened to it again, and sang along the song from the top of my lungs and I sobbed. While singing. Like, so much. I feel like I put all my unhealthy and bad thoughts to bed. I've reclaimed my crown. I feel free. Thank you. Thank you so much.

I've been listening to this song a lot because my big brother died. He was crushed by a fallen tree during a storm in Columbia, Louisiana. There has been a news story on it and there's a tweet about it on Twitter. He died saving his girlfriend. He saved his whole family in a way. He saved me from thinking negative thoughts. Needed this. Been going through some shit. Not depression or anything, but some really bad anxiety the past 4 or so months. So bad it landed me in the hospital, out patient treatment, and now in therapy. Things do get better, and everyone out there suffering, with anything, just know that tomorrow is a new day, and you never know what it will hold for you. Keep your head held high and we're all with you 💜

“you don’t gain a single things from misery” is a quote that i constantly tell myself. i doubt anyone is going to ever read this but, i had friends, from scotland. i met them at the beginning of quarantine and i spent so. much. time. with them. so many memories. so many. we talked and joked and laughed and i wanted to know them forever but i ruined it. at least i’m blaming myself. i didn’t apologize for those things i said to her at the end, maybe she should’ve fixed her broken ways. maybe this is what i needed, for it to end. to stop holding onto people so far way. realize i belong here, talk to people who won’t hurt me time and time again. i want to let go. i truly do but, they were so important to me i didn’t want it to end like this. but they hurt me and hurt me and hurt me. if i had never met them i wouldn’t have started creating art and stories but, maybe that’s all i need to take away, let go of the memories and let them be forgotten. start making something of myself and not letting others hold me back. i can become king. i don’t need them. ..... ....and i’ve stopped crying. i’ll be fine without them right? i’ll start making the most of my time. i hope i move on. i don’t know if i’m going back. i feel fine without them.
