In this video I show a couple of people visiting muscle beach in Miami how to do a muscle up. Below are the strength requirements and a recommended workout routine to follow.
Strength Requirements:
- 10 Pull Ups (chest to bar)
- 10 Dips (on a straight bar)
- 5 second L-Sit (on pull up bar) optional
Workout Routine | 2x / Week:
- Assisted Muscle Ups | 3-4 x max reps
use lighter bands as you get stronger
- Explosive High Pull Ups | 3-4 x max reps
- Negative Muscle Ups | 3-4 x max reps

Thanks for the tip i.e. 'the 'c' shape'. I can do over 10 strict pull-ups with negatives (on return) and many deep dips. I thought my inability to execute muscle up's was solely due to lack of 'tricep pull-down' strength to get over the transition point (i.e. from pull-up to dip-up).

Yeah sounds like you definitely have the strength, you might need to tweak the technique a little bit by pulling in that C shape.

Im in the stage where I can only get up while kipping. Do you have any tips on doing them strict?

Try using a resistance band on the bar, it will force you to use proper form.

Dope but i feel like you dont need false grip for regular mu's just tge slow ones or really strict

That’s true they don’t need to be in a full false grip, but I think it always helps to at least have your thumbs wrapped over the bar.
