@@racheltandoh1085 My hair was just above my bra strap. I was wearing wash and go's or had my hair in buns or ponytails. I began to incorporate ayurvedic powders like henna, hibiscus, cassia, and Amla or I use Nupur every 4 weeks. I refresh my hair as needed, with a mixture of fenugreek seeds soaked in aloe vera juice. I wash and DC my hair weekly, seal it with a nice butter, twist it back up and keep my ends tucked away, and leave it alone for the week then repeat. It has worked wonders for me. God Bless You Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, Only Christ saves Not works, Faith.......

Firstly, thank you for the scripture. The purpose of my response is to edify, not to fight, with that being said, I say this: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James:2:26 There is election, there is faith, and there are works, they all play a role in attaining salvation.

@pandakawaiidebby890
@pandakawaiidebby890 3 жыл бұрын
@@charlesbrown8879 Thank you for you edit. I also want to add just a little something. We do works because we are saved. We don't do work to be saved 🙃. It's like when Jesus said that we know a tree by the fruits it bears Matthew7:15-20. Someone who has been saved by Christ produces the fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22. But it's not our work who made us enter in heaven. I just felt like the "attaining salvation", you know, in the right place. It sound like you have faith + good deed = salvation = all the religion of the world. We saved first by believing in Jesus-Christ, Mark 16:16, Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9. I think the works come after, through working with Jesus. The choosen disciples were saved because they believed in Jesus and trusted Him till their deaths. And they shown their faith through their works, preaching the Word of God. If we see Faith as trusting the Lord, then you trust the Lord then show your trust by acts. (I think we women we love to say that, " show me you love me " (lol)) So of course, works are important because they testifies our salvation (and our faith James 2:18) but they do not save us. Salvation is not a the payment of a work but a gift of grace. Also let's make a difference between justication and salvation, which are really kinda close in meaning in the Bible 😅 I think that the reason why without work, faith is dead, it's because a tree which is supposed to bear fruit doesn't bear them is as good as a dead tree. If you are saved but still lived in the sin, are you really saved or do you just keep the christian identity? It's important to highlight works because it's a part of our walk after salvation not for salvation. And it's also a way to distinguish real faith (which produces works), from empty/dead faith (who produce none). I hope my point it's clear ^^. Happy to see brothers and sisters. Love you all. God bless you!

Agreed. I got these braids for my 7th anniversary, but I am thee laziest natural. I don't like glue ins sew ins, or synthetic braids anymore. I can't be free with that stuff attached. I have a ton of ayurvedic powders, oils, butters, aloe plants, roots, but I can't seem to do much of nothing during the week cuz I'm pooped after working & cooking dinner for my husband and me. I'll have to resort to 2 French braids and fewer twists like someone else suggested in these comments. So many products but I have to make the time to maintain a regimen. I have about 10 inches of hair at best. I would love for it to be super long. I have put aside all my wigs for the past year or two. I've have two times in the last yr where I steamed and straightened my hair. I'm in no hurry to straighten it again and I've trimmed my fair share of times this year, too.

I have 3c hair and it loosens fast when wet,especially in the very front and back. 8 months is my longest time of mini protective styling and it works for me with months of doing others between to give my hair and head a break.

My hair constantly lives in flat twists/mini twists combo. Two-strand twists in the back and flat twists in the front. The lower back half I do my twists about half the size of my pinkie because my hair is medium density in that area. Top back half I do about the size of my pinky. Same thing for the flat twists in the front. I normally keep them in for no more than 2-3 weeks. Wash my hair and then do regular flat-twists and keep those in for 2-3 weeks as well. In between weeks I refresh my scalp with rose water and gently massage my scalp in order to reduce excessive matting. I always make sure to keep my roots stretched. I've been doing this routine for the past year and I've maintained more length compared to before especially in the front portion of my hair which normally has a slower growth rate. My hair is currently APL/BSL.

Yup! Cuz I know I came from weaves and let me tell you my hair was so broken off underneath it, but my mindset was hey I’ll just throw a weave over it nobody will see my damage anyway..... had to come out of that ASAP lol

@@IndigenousStrandz11 Same here. For me it’s the outside stressors that contribute to the breakage if I’m not cognizant of it. I see you girl, I’m with you & appreciate your wisdom & guidance.

I can attest to the right size twists. My twists are to my butt. However, I ran into issues when I was lazy and made my twists too big. Even though they weren't tight, the slight pulling of hair to the center of the section for each twist caused breakage. Protecting the ends doesn't mean putting it into tight updos a lot, even if you think it's loose, you're snatching your edges.

I have fine hair and two strand twist don't last on my hair. And my ends Nat up and getting to tangles along with my hair. Protective styles for coarse hair is not the same for fine hair the hair has to be managed differently

Still working on trying to find the right width for my twists. Never occurred to me that that could be what makes me get little knots. By the way, I like your top! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving and hope you all have a good Christmas as I don't know if you will be putting out another video before then! :-)

Yes I totally agree. I use wigs everyday with my hair,but I make sure my hair underneath is cleaned and moisturized. My hair is under my bra strap. It definitely can be done, you just have to know your hair and be knowledgable about what you hair wants.

Thank you for your b4 and after picture. My patience when I grew my locs was so much easier. My hair is growing fast of course it always has but it seems like I use to leave my twist in longer and now by two weeks I have a lot of new growth and frizz looking crazy lol. You are at the top of my list for hair growth inspiration. Thank you for all your hair videos🙏

You are STUNNING!!!!!! Your hair is heavenly and thank you for always sharing your knowledge. Question: When wearing 2-strand twists is it always bests to just redo the ones that need moisture, or do you feel that moisture can adequately penetrate while remaining twisted?

Hmmm, I've never thought about the size of twists as a factor. I might need to reevaluate my go to protective style of choice: braids with my own hair. I might have to switch to twists! Valuable information. Thank you!

You're right definitely a learning curve. You can try things if it doesn't work out try something new. I particularly like a thick leave in, oil and then seal with castor oil, my hair loves it and it looks so shiny. Remembered my mum used to use a scalp tonic, started to use that and my scalp loves it. Hair is starting to retain length, my goal is to get to bra strap length.

I am going back to two strand twist and braids with my natural hair because I wear loose buns a lot. The problem is no matter how much I moisturize my hair it gets very dry and tangled with loose buns. When I twist and braid my natural hair i never have this problem with dryness. Loose buns grew my hair to bra strap length. But I noticed since its gotten longer. Buns don't work for me anymore. I would make sure my hair was detangled and moisturized before I put it away. But it would come out looking like I never took care of it. So I'm definitely sticking with twist and braids.

I subscribed when you said you need to find the perfect twist size for your hair! You are the first I have heard to say this. I twist my hair in the chunky twist only to have it shrink or to have 2 or 3 of the twist remain flat. ☹
