I would suggest not getting Rye if you already have good fertility, wheat is fine. Rye is there so you can make bread in the bad fertility areas, otherwise it's just a wasted development point

Yeah, didn't quite explain this as it's one of the last points to spent anyways in this case. But you're right ofx

ox will plow up one side of the field, walk across doing nothing and then plow down the other side, and then back again doing nothing to plow up. Time is wasted going left to right. If you make the fields more rectangular than square the plowing time is faster as they spend way more time plowing the longer distance and way less time walking back and forth doing nothing.

The field sizes are expressed as "morgen" in the game, what would you recommend for size? Like 0,5 Morgen? Or smaller?

A single family in a farmhouse can handle about 0,6 morgen (hand plowing, sowing, harvesting). Making your fields 0,5 morgen per family you will have working them is a good rule of thumb.

0.5 morgen per family on the farm. Typically have two families on a farm on my end, so 1 morgen per field. I tend to have three field for each farm house. For rotation and fallows. With a town size of 300 I was making more Ale than I could sell. Easy money.

i like 3, 4 (which is comeing), 5(probly coming), 6,. 7 only if it is historical, dont know what 1,8 and 9 are. But 10 also sounds good

The only problem now is with the new beta 0.7.960 the farms and trade has changed a lot

@@RudiRennkamel trading is now 50% of the value not 25 straight up value for each trade, also the value for the trades everytime you open a new one rises, as for farms they are now more efficient you can attach 2 oxen instead of 1, the farms don't lose fertility during those full grown months before they harvest on crop rotation,
