You can hear Border Patrol firing full auto. We are about as apolitical a school district as there is. Yes that is exactly how it works. The member gets very limited time and will interrupt and/or reclaim time if the witness proceeds to speak beyond a yes or no. Also, the committee chairman could have made ruling that the witness did not get to answer a question, but he didn't do that. There is also no rule that am actual question must be asked of the witness, the member can speak for the entire time.

The Congress asks questions and it is either lied to or not answered. That's how it works. If you just look at the FBI bozos in the section 702 hearings that's the worst of it. It is actually refreshing to see the bureaucrat mafia bulldozed like that. Show them their place. "We are the ones who make the laws, and you are not".
