The part where the guy serenades the girl with a guitar, we Filipinos call that harana. Harana and Rondalla are traditional Filipino music still played to this day. And we wouldnt sing the national anthem for a harana, we would play something more romantic and charming, like maybe [I suggest] Cariñosa.

If I may add, Filipino men have great sense of humor. If you feel down, they will do their best to cheer you up. We are optimistic to a fault. We are also averse to negative emotions. Filipino culture is about maintaining harmony like many Asian cultures. The downside though, when there are issues, Filipinos tend to ignore them or tell you to look at the bright side. However because of this, nothing is ever solved. Filipino men initially are very secretive about their emotions, too, but once you get very close to them and with a little bit of alcohol, they are going to be more open about their emotions.

Regardless of sexuality or gender, Filipinos on average are respectful to women but of course there are exceptions. Anyhow, it's because Filipino culture is matriarchal.

Or let's say, machist in appearance but actually matriarchal in its core. A Filipino here... I am also raised in a family where my father is the provider, but my mother is actually the manager and the primary authority in the house. When we eat, my mother used to take the center part of the table, and when my elder brother got married, his wife sat at the opposite side of my mother, indicating her to be the secondary matriarch.

In this video, I learned that Arabs and Filipinos share the following traits: 1-Both have strong relations and respect to their families (including aunts, uncles, cousins and the list goes on) 2- Religious (whether Christians or Muslims because Christians Arabs are quite religious) 3- the elderlies will always have a recipe or a cure for sickness, no doctors 4- Rice is hugely consumed by both races

Nailed it. I married a Filippina. Big families, family get-togethers entail dozens of all the generations - toddlers to 90 year olds. Titas and Titos. That hand to the forehead as token of respect. Rice, rice, and more rice. The smallest bag we ever buy is 20 lbs. And lumpia (like egg rolls but better!) and lechon (bbq pig). Karioke is most definitely a thing. Another home cure is orange soda and Skyflake crackers (I don't know why). One thing you forgot - no shoes in the house! Take them off as soon as you enter - they always wear slippers or flip flop type sandals in the home.

Yes I have both male and female friends from Philippines. They're so respectful. I love being around them . Family is their priority. While he's being caring about me In front of others, even if we're just friends, People will thought we're in a relationship. And I'm kinda like to tease him because he's a bit shy. Most Filipinos do talk somewhat like this, it's a bit exaggerated but in general there is an accent......I don't see the issue. If English isn't your native language why would you have a "neutral" accent? That's doesn't exist even for native speakers we all have accents. Either way, speaking English really isn't as important as the Philippines makes it out to be.... Source: I go to church and school with many Filipinos and I've been to the Philippines (Batangas, Cavite and Manila, as well as Bicol).

Let's clarify things. First, Philippines does not declare Christianity as state religion because our constitution allows anyone to practice their beliefs, religion, culture to name a few. Second, Philippines is not the only Catholic-majority population of Asia. Try East-Timor(Timor-Leste), Armenia, Georgia.

4:40 As a Filipino, its true that every Sunday will never be complete without attending a Mass, either in church or in TV. It would be lucky for me if I had a Polish, Italian or an Irish girlfriend since they share the Catholic faith as I do. As for the basketball part, not all Filipinos are basketball fans.. they love boxing (because of Manny Pacquiao) and other sports as well..
