Its not just that but sakura character never was really developed same with all the other female characters. For example sakura should have grown out her crush long time ago and should have developed a lot in terms of skills sinse she was lead female character. Then theirs the kishimoto family issue with his wife I think that helped ruin sakura character development in some level. I think there was few other things that lead to all females left forgotten in some way out of all the female character ino seems to be the only one who disnt get the short end.

But she was the most developed female character in the series. Other female characters got it dirtier.

In my opinion, it screams Sakura never understood Naruto. She thinks the reason Naruto is hell bent to get Sasuke was for her. She came to the conclusion that Naruto spent 3 years just to get her back her childhood crush. In my mind that moment is when all of Naruto's romantic feelings for Sakura died. She lied to him, she tried to manipulate him, she wasn't helping him she was only getting in the way from that moment until Sasuke fled.

After the fight she should have realised that Sasuke doesn’t give a shit about her anymore (he never really liked her romantically from the beginning itself). But never even cared to give them a sincere moment not even a normal conversation. I still don’t know why sakura continued to love Sasuke for no reasons at all even after him going wild. After their final battle both of them lost their arm. Sasuke caused it. Naruto was ready to give his life just to save sasuke from darkness. Still she dealt with them like equal. Sakura indeed felt insecured because when she was a kid she had a small pool of chakra, could not pull a single jutsu, well she still sucks at jutsu, she can't even do a single transformation jutsus, even though in databooks it says she has water, earth, ying and yang release, but can't do a single transformation jutsus. the reason was because she was not in a special clan, her parents were not fighters at all! so she struggled a lot, but worked hard to get some battle power that's why she trained with tsunade, so even with her fist she can fight despite not having good transformation jutsus! I know that shoving a fucking pillars on enemies or destroying the ground is just a lame way of fighting because superman does fight like that... people hails superman as hero, but dude just destroys building when fights, but still she can stand with others and fight instead of sitting back like a coward... but now on the other hands, she indeed had a shitty character, disrespect Naruto a lot because he was an orphan and sasuke got back at her, because also was one by that time, in which that shut her up! She was childish and hit naruto a lot because well naruto somehow was a pervert... but also in anime where they exagerrated that shit, made her hit naruto for nothing sometimes! also some flaws, the rinnegan part, well she got one job but was still scared by that time...her fighting style is not refined but she can manage compared to those can do beautiful jutsus! in terms of writings, she had so much potential in which kishimoto at that himself said he did it on purpose because he design her as his wife and wanted to get back at her through this... kishimoto even went to say that hinata was his perfect woman character that's why he shipped her with naruto instead of sakura.. just because hinata was ladylike and he fell in love with his own character and that most boy would like an elegant woman in japan rather a violent one, kinda crazy but true, and sakura was boyish, violent... so all that kishimoto did was complain about his marriage telling his wife 'why can't you be a woman like hinata' or something... his wife got angry because he didn't shipped sakura with naruto... kinda crazy reason why kishimoto did her bad.. also he pulled excuse that he was bad at writing females characters.. this is not made up i can tag you the link so that you can see for yourself... in terms of abilities, sakura was about to become a genjutsu ninja but kishimoto said.. nahh...! pretty much.. so to compensate all of sakura's lost, he pulled a lame ass job in the end giving her as much as screen time as naruto and sasuke and tried to make her strong with just punch and healings, which doesn't sit well to some fans because this shit was abrupt it's like poof someone spilled water in your face and you gotta admit it! like 3/4 of the series she could not do shit but in 1/4 she is suddenly something else! kishimoto killed off some high powerful female character just to make her strongest konoichi, which just, I SAID JUST.. PUNCHING! if another female uchihas was left, she would not even be considered the strongest, because uchiha got strong genjutsus like izanami, a jutsu you can't escape! though she is immune to some genjutsus, she i'm sure she would not be able to beat a genjutsu on itachi level! so kishimoto planned his stuff properly on how to make strongest with just brute power... and he even apologised to all sakura fans about how bad he made her!

Shikamaru said before the mission of retrieving sasuke that he doesn't like sasuke but he will risk his life for him because that's what they do in konoha and when pain asked kakashi where naruto is he answered that here in konoha they prefer giving their lives to their comrades

I agree with you so much, her role could've been key to Naruto's or Sasuke's mental health development, but I think it was too much for Kishimoto. If you analize, all the female characters are pretty lame compared to the male ones. So this is a writing problem, this is Kishimoto not knowing "the women spectrum" at all (And by that I mean all the possible outcomes of a females character personality).

If you think she didnt do much in p1 or p2 then read this: So many characters would be dead without her she saved hinata from the pain arc, she saved sasuke from gaara when they were all kids (she took the target of sasuke off and she took the full attack for him), she saved naruto when he lost kurama, she saved dozens to even hundreds of ninja and civilians during the pain arc AND during the war arc and she teamed up with lady chiyo and took down sasori an elite akatsuki member and she also took down like 50 mini ten tails in one punch when naruto and sasuke were only taking out like 2-4 at a time
