What do you think? Is Thorncrown Chapel the most beautiful church you've seen? Maybe better yet, what makes a church beautiful in your own faith walk? Feel free to leave a comment below. I'd enjoy hearing your feedback.

My favorite building is the San Diego Temple. It looks like an Ice Castle.

Wow! I love that this church is mostly all glass. And that the architecture plays off of the design of the tallness of the trees, and envelopes you in them. It's so much easier to pray when you're out in nature. So peaceful! One thing that makes a church beautiful to me is when something about it, the peace, the inspiration, causes my mind to expand, and epiphanies start connecting. The other is when a child turns around on the pew in front of me and smiles. I also love very sparing lightly stained glass, and when it puts color on the floor in front of it. And any thing that plays with sunlight. Be it a chandelier. Or the angles cut into a window ect that creates a prismatic effect.

I very much enjoyed watching this video. The same architectural firm in Little Rock also designed this chapel -> kzfaq.infoQp6TsA4t96o?feature=share

That particular hymn they were singing, "It Is Well with My Soul," has a very inspirational story behind it. It is well worth looking up the history behind it. It has even been performed by the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square during LDS General Conference on several occasions.

Great video. You were SO knowledgable on giving us great details of this beautiful place of worship. Oh, welcome to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm in Southern California. Binge-watching all of your videos.

You asked “What makes a Church beautiful for me and my walk with God?” Though I appreciate beautiful structures of churches, including this one you highlighted - it’s the teaching I hear, the music that reverently elevates, the humility of speakers, and I want to feel when I walk away that it softens my heart to inspire me to take that reverent worship church behavior into my daily life, my home, my family and my church family. I was reading the New Testament today about Peter and Cornelius and how God sent a vision to Peter to go share the gospel with others and God sent an angel to teach Cornelius to receive Peter. Together all were lifted as they learned humility and greater faith together. That’s a beautiful church to me. In fact today, I thought about the way God presented the vision to Peter. Peter knew well how fish are caught, and the Savior invited Peter to leave those fish and feed His sheep. In Peters vision, I thought about how the vision was presented - like a sheet drawn up at the four corners. Like the cast net drawn up that Peter knew so well - God loves all his children and wants us to follow His Son. All our welcome to live his law ….together. That’s a beautiful church and important to my walk. Thanks for time to reflect on your question.

I loved this one ❤. Anything in nature really gets me. I think of the word sanctuary anytime I’m soaking up Gods peace and the beauty around me. I think being in nature sometimes helps us to “forget” temporarily the troubles of life which I think is one of the reasons I love being in picturesque places like this. Oh you said “we”. Did you bring friends? Now I’m going to go look up this story of a man being healed in the water. 😂 Thanks David.

Thanks for another well put together video. This looks like a beautiful church and incredible location for it. What makes a church beautiful? My wife and I spent 4 weeks in Europe recently and I love going into any church I can. Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, France, Ireland, Scotland, England. Incredible art, architecture, etc. I took time in each location to respect and reverence God, and to feel his presence in these several locations that had been dedicated to the worship of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Each one of these Religious edifices were aesthetically beautiful. But the most beautiful of all, and the place I felt the spirit of the Lord testify to my soul, was a simple chapel in the town of Portadown Northern Ireland, where about 80 humble followers of Jesus Christ were gathered on a rainy Sunday morning in May. The Hymns and sermons spoke truth to my soul. Short answer Is music, people and the Teachings of Jesus Christ can make anywhere on earth a beautiful place.

Beautiful video! I attended a gorgeous wedding at this chapel. I love the question mentioned above that you asked at the end. I loved living near the twin to this chapel which is , Mildred B. Cooper Glass Chapel in Bella Vista. I went and sat it it’s beauty countless times. Enjoyed as always David!

Appreciate it as always. Makes me wonder what the wedding wait list is like to have it here. I have done a video on the Mildred B. Cooper Chapel in the past, that's another amazing one. One I really wanted to see was the Anthony Chapel, just was a bit too far of a drive for this trip.

This looks so beautiful and peaceful. I think nature really does bring us closer to God because it is his creation and all creation sings his praise. I would love to visit this place.

Thank you, David. I definitely intend to visit this chapel when I get an opportunity. I went as a child to see the play, and revisited that site and area as an adult, but I didn't know about this chapel. Very wonderful , and your commentary was excellent. I really like the transition in thought from a place where you can be close to God, to a place that helps you realize that God is always near. I love it. It reminds me of the Voyage of the Dawntreader, “I have been here all the time, but you have just made me visible.” Cheers.

Great to hear from you, Bob. Definitely worth it if you're nearby, it's a worship setting like none other. The "thin place" comment, it does make one deep diver into how "close" we are to something spiritual. Thanks for your continued support.

Wow! That would be amazing to see in person. I love that it is IN nature! The main guy who sings in this episode was great! I’ve seen this church on an episode of that show with 20 kids. Can’t remember what it’s called. I think it was 19 kids and counting.

He was immensely talented. And yes, from what I heard in the past, the chapel was featured as the wedding location for one of the Duggars. Never watched it, but sounds like it was quite popular over a decade ago.

Sorry I hadn't been able to view it yet, and so I can't comment on it's beauty. I had suggested a dinner church on your last thing, as well as Museum of the Bible and the Noah's Ark Encounter Museum--but it didn't show up. Hope I didn't break any rules.

Weird, didn't see anything show up either. Think you read my mind, thanks for the recommendations. There is a trend I've heard called table churches where fellowship centers around dinner to engage believers (which sounds very interesting). I hope to get out to DC again at some point, and the Museum of the Bible is definitely something I'm intrigued to see. Ark Encounter would be a fun video too. Thanks for the ideas.

@@52churchesin52weeks I feel bad that with suggesting new trends and some large churches (that comment did get through, just not the other one I mentioned) that I'm not mentioning non-denominational. I wonder if they actually hold onto people because I've heard that they rarely convert people, just draw switchers. Was it in your book because I didn't see a video? I like the move towards customization in Christianity (some churches are ministering to professions like a nurse's church, and even my church now focuses on a customized user webpage relating to my stage in life as a mom and calling in the church), but I'm worried about some trends. I haven't seen any repeat of Asbury, and the hype around The Chosen--while it's exciting many Christians (wanted to love it but couldn't continue, wasn't working for me) I don't think it's converting anybody.

If you can get some funding through your channel growth you should do a trip to israel and visit the different churches there. I went this spring with my wife's family and I could give you a list of the churches we visited and they are all on biblical sites from the life of Christ and others. The other cool part is services are held daily so you could get a lot of churches done in one week of travel.

Yes, it is a beautiful church. But that is one of the last things I would Iook for in a church. Are they teaching the Word? Are the leaders anointed? Do they have a true understanding of Praise? Do they teach the law or Grace? And as far as the statement you read.....God does not whisper in our ears. He communicates to us through our spirit. What we hear whispering in our ears ------ is not God.

I believe God can communicate with us in any way he sees fit. Weather that be through thoughts, feelings, or a verbal communication if that’s what is needed. ❤
