Paul Young points out the disconnect many people experience in trying to trust the “angry” God who requires his Son’s death.

There is a another version where Jesus said "My Father has not forsaken me". Not all versions of a 'holly book' are translated same. I do love Mr. Young, and his story is our life story. Love and Gratitude.

Most believers in the middle east will say they are muslim...really? Someone who has embraced the triune God will identify with denying Jesus is God? Please show prove of this statement!

Just when I think I am almost an Evangelical Universalist, I hear one dismissing the wrath of God against sin. If I become a Christian Universalist, I will become one like Origen, who was a Universalist who took Hell and sin seriously. So much so that he seems to contradict himself in his writings: writing about "universal reconciliation" and then writing about "eternal judgment" on other occasions! I cannot be a Universalist who dismisses divine wrath, or sin, or eternal judgment (that is, "judgment concerning the age or ages to come")! I take these words of Jesus seriously "Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge [God], the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be thrown into prison [Hell]. TRULY, I say to you, YOU WILL BY NO MEANS COME OUT OF THERE TILL YOU HAVE PAID THE LAST PENNY" (Matthew 5:25-26). I reject infinite judgment because we are not infinite beings like God! No one deserves to be punished forever! That's not rational! But I do take seriously "judgment concerning the age to come"! Christian Universalistm must be grounded in Scripture and not sentiment! We must base "universal reconciliation" on the Word of God and reason and not a sentimental and emotional reaction to "the Shack"!

Could it be that Jesus spoke to His 1st century ‘audience’ very differently BECAUSE of their PRECONCEIVED misperception about God? So He was speaking ‘their language’ & using ‘their terms’ when in fact God is NOT the judge. Yes they were under the Mosaic Covenant which was a Covenant they themselves DEMANDED in lieu of RELATIONSHIP. THEREFORE the judgement that was coming was coming from THEIR OWN SYSTEM. So He prophesied as He KNEW what THAT system had to offer was nothing but condemnation & death. One MUST CONSIDER to WHOM He was speaking & the time (1st century) He was in.

Eastern Orthodoxy has a better handle on God's judgement. Apokatastasis! Please U tube on this subject it will give you a better understanding of God's unrelenting love grace and mercy. Also check ex Protestant pastor now Orthodox Brad Jerzak's " A more CHRISTLIKE God." So liberating!

Depart from me, I never KNEW you. Matt 7:21 We KNOW people we are in relationship with, otherwise, we may only know ABOUT them. The word 'trinity' is not in Scripture either.

Can someone please help me understand the scripture in 1Cor 6:9-11 about how certain people will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Is this translated correctly? It just doesn't sit right with me. God is unconditional love.

This understanding of God may just slow the masses forsaking their faith. So many have moved on from Protestant punitive atonement to one that of a restorative atonement. Luther and Calvin both with a legal education have done much to move the concept of the atonement from one of a hospital to a courtroom. Checking on the original Greek and the English mistranslation will also change our understanding of God's judgement and hell etc. Seek and you will find knock and it will be opened to you. Our walk with God is progressive. A shame most Christians remain at a point of knowing the scriptures as taught in what to believe. Ask the HS to guide and teach you, look at the Bible through the lens of Jesus in your interpretation and watch what happens. I speak from experience and yes like Jesus also seen as a heretic from those defending their dogma. God is good true and beautiful and His love and mercy without ending. SHALOM💌

The word says in 1 John that He is a God of Love and He first loved us. But He hates sin that is why He sent His only begotten Son to the Cross for us.

Can anyone help me make sense of the scriptures in Mathew 6 and Mark 11 { I think } where it talks of God, and how he will NOT forgive us, unless we forgive first!? Personally, I believe it's extremely important to forgive and life altering. But, with that being said, I can't imagine a God that is NOT able to {or won't} forgive or hear peoples prayers.... This doesn't seem possible. Just doesn't line up with the nature of Jesus. Is this scripture correct? Did this scripture get translated correctly? Am I missing something!?

@@cherylwilliams4738 I am not sure what you are quoting exactly, maybe Matt 6:12. Maybe not forgiving someone is the sin I am confessing and asking forgiveness for. I imagine God will forgive me, but will also cleanse me or heal me so I can forgive, 1 John1:9. I have no doubt God will forgive me, but I want more than forgiveness, I want to have a heart of faith in God that can forgive, that is healed. The life of Christ in me. In the final analysis, if we reject Gods life in us, the soft heart he wants to give us or union with God, the holy spirit, we remain without life and under the wrath of God John 3:36. Healing is a process, often it doesn't happen easily or quickly. Sometimes it does though. I think it is useful to be clear in our mind what we think forgiveness is and isn't too. I think matt 6:12 is to make us think about these things, and ponder, what is forgiveness? How does Christ crucified forgive our sins? My reasoning is, that I have destroyed life by not loving (sin). God is my creditor, having given me life, which is an I.O.U. to love, failure to love is destroying life sourced in God. I have brought death into the relationship by acting against what God is, life/love. The crucifixion tells me that they have accepted the loss I created into themselves in order that I can live and learn how to live. Forgiveness is the offended party accepting the loss created by the offender, and not seeking to put it back on them. If we refuse the life of God in us, we are refusing life and cannot forgive. That's how I think about it anyway.

I'd encourage you to delve deep, very very deep into textural criticism, and all the history of the Bible and Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew texts. The way the western world understands God is 180 degrees different than how the original church did. And not in a good way. Somewhere down the line we got it wrong, and here we are in a mess now. "The Bible may have been divinely inspired, but there's human fingerprints all over it"

@@chrisnorman8628 the Pharesees where very good at the scriptures and yet missed HIM to the point of murdering HIM. I'll be in pursuit of experience and then compare or contrast with scripture. We don't worship a stagnant God who's limited by our scope of the Universe. God's knowledge is infinite, because he's the only one at this stage who understands infinity either direction. Be open minded and he talk to you....
