@@toronado455 Yes, but I had them to reduce some of the markups. For example, the alarm. They wanted $999 for it and they know you need it and it’s convenient to just buy it. I talked them down to half that price. I ended up leasing the car instead of buying it.

The greatest benefit that I can see with this vehicle is when it comes to the cost of ownership. This vehicle is RELIABLE. It utilizes high quality, mass-produced parts used by other Toyota vehicles and will be a cheaper and easier fix at any mechanic's shop. As boring as this vehicle truly is, it looks like it is designed to run for 300-400K miles.

Really looking forward to the hybrid version - better fuel mileage and more power. As I've grown older, I'm increasingly grown to appreciate the importance of no-hassle, no-drama "NPC" vehicles, and the Toyota Corolla Cross(or maybe next gen Prius!) really hit that spot. Plus it gives me an excuse to get an absolute dumpster fire of a project car to work on, cause I got a super reliable one just in case!

I can’t believe you missed it. It’s designed around short people. The tiny rear view window means horrible visibility. Rear side view is also horrible. For a tall person sitting in the back the sideways head movement is appalling. Didn’t you move your head from side to side? Lumber support on the seats is terrible. Then there is the rear view mirror which sits way too low on the windscreen. This is because the roof slopes towards the back and the rear window is too low to the ground. For taller drivers it means you have to lower the seat manually. Sunglasses holder? My 06 Forester does not have any of these design issues. Sure it’s a boxy design but it’s practical.

Absolutely, totally agree, if you compare this to your 16 year old Forester (which is notable for its excellent sight lines), this is going to have much worse rearward visibility. Ethan, Nothing is more boring than excess time and money spent on an unreliable car. Having said that, the Cross's rear seating clearly fails to keep up with prime competition like the HR-V. The biggest disappointment has to be its relatively under-powered, inefficient drive train which delivers less power and lower mpg than the RAV4/RAV4 Hybrid. All in all, the rest of the world's Corolla wagon is more appealing for car fans while CUV fanatics would be better off with the RAV4. On a final note, I would be very surprised if the Cross offers as much headroom as the original Matrix/Vibe and it certainly does not provide their fold-flat front passenger seat which added so much cargo flexibility to those two Corolla variants of yesteryear🤩🤩
