Life isn't about pleasing everybody. The first step to being unhappy is trying to please everybody. Be yourself. Ask yourself "You sure about that?" When you think about pleasing everybody.

I had a neighbour get super angry with me because I said I didn't want kids. Proceeded to go on a rant about her fertility issues, how awful her mother-in-law was, and how for (I forget what she told me) she wasn't allowed to adopt a child. I just sat there awkwardly not knowing how to respond because I knew that saying "Well, how the fuck is that my problem?" wouldn't have gone over too well
