That was so sad and unfortunately it happens in real life . Parents/ grandparents care for someone with special needs there comes a time when they can't and that young person has no understanding of what happened. I worked with children/ young adults with special needs it is heartbreaking.

I understand that she may have tried group homes or other places to help get care for her grandson, but that still doesn't excuse her actions. There's something to be said for easing someone into a change in routine. From my understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong): individuals on the spectrum feel more secure in situations when they have a very specific and structured daily routine. From the way it was framed, I kind of doubt that the grandmother tried to ease her grandson into a change of routine and I think easing him into a new routine with a guardian would be good. Doing things like having the guardian visit while the grandmother is still around in order to have him get familiar with the guardian would probably go a long way. The visits could start off short and then increase in length over time, but it would allow the grandson to get accustomed to having a new person around aside from his grandmother.

People on the Spectrum do prefer Routines and don't deal well with deviations from the ones they establish, so yes you are correct on that.

She should have been arrested for attempted murder regardless of her circumstance. I'm saying this as both a social worker and a disabled person. Caregiver burnout is very real, but it does not justify these actions.

Arresting somebody who is already dying doesn't make much sense... But it was attempted murder, regardless of the circumstances, I agree.

Alexander should release it from his grandmother since his grandmother has cancer. He need to accept this.

A neurotypical person can think like that but Alexander has autism. Some people on the spectrum simply cannot think that way, they are very rigid.

Also. Did she ask him? I know he has diminished capacity and couldn’t give informed consent. But what if he wouldn’t even have given that. He may understood enough to know he wanted to live. And the betrayal she had committed by ignoring that is awful

The actor playing Alexander did an excellent job at portraying how Autism looks for some on the spectrum. I wonder if the actor is Autistic himself or has family on the spectrum.

@@littelly considering the circumstances I doubt the court would give jail time. It could even fall on not guilty for reason of insanity, because the prosecution likely will be unable to prove ill will, since they know grandma loves him above anything else and she truly believed it was the best choice, which in itself can be insanity.
@MaxCarnage1984
@MaxCarnage1984 3 күн бұрын
@@ClaudioProductionsX Attempted murder is still attempted murder, no matter if she thought it was the best option considering the circumstances. But due to the stage that her illness was at, you're right, she would've most likely avoided prison time.

What she did was very wrong but the courts will probably give some leniency to her case due to her circumstances. She was practically forced to make the decision for the sake of Alexander. I feel bad for cause they both are hurting

As some one who has a family member on the spectrum and has a possible chance on being on the spectrum, I definitely see that Alexander is somewhere on the spectrum. The blowout and what not is a big sign and having nervous breakdowns without his grandma. What sucks is the actor most likely doesn’t have autism.

I'm sorry but when will you post Chicago PD clips? You posted one a few weeks ago, and since then it's only Fire and Med all the time! there is no balance in your posting! And also, plz if you do finally post PD, post smth new, from old, rare episodes we don't see often because all One Chicago channels have this tendency to post the same clips, from the same episodes over and over again! yet you have so many episodes, and so many great action scenes to choose from, especially from PD!
