In this video, I share with you one of my most challenging and rewarding projects: a charcuterie board made with black cherry wood and purple swirl resin. This was a custom order from a customer who wanted something unique and eye-catching for their daughter. I had to use some advanced level thinking on this one, some TotalBoat epoxy resin, some purple haze mica powder, and a beautiful piece of black cherry burl. I will show you how I cut, sanded, poured, cured, and polished the board to create this stunning masterpiece. The customer was blown away by the final product and so was I. Watch the video to see the whole process and the amazing outcome. And please like, comment, and subscribe for more incredible projects.

First: 10/10 for tenacity. I must admit, had that happened to me with the hardener, I would have given up at that point and reluctantly started again Second: I wonder if you've stumbled upon a really interesting technique here to cast resin with pockets that could subsequently be filled with something else. I'm thinking lava lamp? Third: It's acetone surely? Or is that just a british thing?! Great video

I was thinking that under the clear coat, the texture on the blue part might make it look like a river or something. Rapids etc

Wow…that was a lot of hard work with some serious disappointment. Glad you were able to correct the resin issue. Very nice result in the end. What were the dimensions? Also it looked really heavy. If you mentioned it I musta missed it. 😊

My first epoxy pour is coming up next week and i'm excited about it, just not sure about how much epoxy to mix up, are there any useful tips you can pass on?

Jack Mack Designs has a great video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nKpdnLxppuCsgoE.htmlsi=mp2P2COfzFzIiqvE. Some people will use Rice to figure out how much epoxy. Others will use water. I don’t do either one and I highly discouraged the water one.

WOW, amazing!! What type of acetate are you using to mix with the resin to seal the board, i.e ethyl or sodium acetate? Also, do you mix it 1:1 with the epoxy mixture?

It's Klean Strip Fast To Dissolve Acetone from Lowes. I use a 1:1 mix to seal the wood.
