Saw it in 3D in theaters a few years back and it was an amazing experience. 3D is the only way to really experience this film properly and not the crappy red/green 3D they did for the Deluxe Edition DVD but the original polarized 3D as it originally was done in theaters. That was awesome. The new Shout Factory version in the box set they did is more like how the 3D was done in the theatrical release but sadly you have to have a 3D capable TV to watch it.

Actually, both the screenwriter Ron Kurz and director Steve Miner have stated Jason attacking Ginny through the window in part 2 was not a dream or intended to be one. It's likely that Paul fought off Jason and saved Ginny although his fate is unknown.

Paul is supposed to be dead! Original script of part 3 says post traumatic Ginny learns self defense and goes back to the lake for a final confrontation with Jason after Paul’s dead body shows up in her dorm. But since Amy steel didn’t wanna return for part 3 this is the script they went with.
@adriennerobinson8984
@adriennerobinson8984 2 жыл бұрын
@@demetriusreynolds8178 That was in the original script but they clearly changed it since in the beginning of the film, the reporter says on TV that eight dead bodies were discovered and counting all people killed that couldn't include Paul. Plus finding Paul's dead body in her dorm room seems too far-fetched, so I'm glad that changed that script even if it was because the actress declined to reprise the role. Paul fate is still unknown although for me, I tend to believe he survived.

@@adriennerobinson8984 you basically said the exact same thing I said! I’m aware they changed it and it was because Amy steel didn’t wanna return. So yes, Paul fate is technically unknown due to the script change but this movie was bad It’s iconic for Jason getting the mask but how does he instantly heal from a machete in his shoulder, get a haircut then is more powerful than he just was considering part 3 takes place the next day after part 2 ends. And Chris couldn’t have an image of Jason attacking her how he looks now cuz he looked different back then. This movie is pretty low on my list of all the fridays

Part 3 will always hold a special place in horror history as it was the movie where Jason gets his hockey mask and a slasher icon was born. Part 3 is not the worst in the series, not at all. What fun it must’ve been to see it in the theaters in 3D when it came out. The kills and the 3D effects were the true strengths of the movie when it came out, who would’ve thought that the moment Jason got his new mask was and still is what stands the test of time as it made horror history. Love the channel and your horror watches! Keep em coming! I look forward to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films!

It helps not to worry about continuity in these movies. Part 3 takes place close enough after part 2 that they’re watching a story about the Part 2 survivors on the news, yet Jason’s shoulder is already healed up and he had time to get a haircut.

Friday the 13th Part 2, 3, and 4 take place on one long bloody long weekend. He starts off at the reopened Crystal Lake Camp in Part 2 five years after part 1, then makes his way to Higgin's Haven for Part 3, then finally ending up at the Jarvis house across the lake in part 4. It all happens so fast that the towns people don't find out about it all till afterwards.

Not necessarily my favorite Friday the 13th, but DEFINITELY the one where Jason comes into his own. If they made one based on the old Friday the 13th video game where he's got the purple suit and the blue mask and every once in a while when he can't find the counselors he's stalking he just gets distracted and bored and just starts wasting the children instead. Because even after all the Camp Blood killings parents are STILL stupid enough to send their kids to Crystal Lake.

I'm just glad the producers didn't opt to go for an "inside the toilet" 3D scene when Harold hit the crapper. The actor who played Jason in this film was Richard Brooker, a slender, 6'3" inch stunt-performer who wore some padding under his shirt to make Jason look more powerful. Sadly, he passed away in 2013 at the age of 58.

You're overthinking a lot of stuff in this movie. The story is that the girl had a traumatic experience at the lake, she came back to help herself get over it, and she encounters Jason doing Jason things ("You come to my lake, I kill you. Thems the rules"- Jason, probably). The plot is pretty simple at it's core, everything else is window dressing. I do like that the subplot in the beginning of the movie with the Bikers comes back around and ends up being important in the final chase.
@3912James

I guess with her barely surviving Jason plus the fact that she unintentionally caused her friends to die (because of Jason...all because she wanted to prove she could overcome her traumatic experience of encountering Jason) caused her to pretty much lose her sanity. On a sad note....the actress who played Fox died back in 2016.

The director is Steve Miner and assisted with first Friday the 13th and then took over as director for the second and third films, so he probably is most responsible for crafting the franchise out of anybody. Interestingly, he later became known as a reliable director of family-friendly movies and TV shows, including a G-rated Disney pic and the pilot episodes of the Wonder Years and Dawson’s Creek! Y’all should react to his movie “House” from 1986 which pokes fun at these types of movies and is a hoot and a half.

This one might be my favorite because I think it was the first one I saw, when I was a kid down at my grandmas house me and my cousins watched it when we were like..8? Terrified me hahaha. The knife coming up through the hammock scarred me I had to sleep with a stuffed animal dog and had its paw over my neck because I thought it would protect me.

My favorite kill with a spare gun to the eyeball when Jason crushed the guy's head so bad his eyeball popped out the crotch kill . My favorite part of the movie was the dream sequence at the end when she thought he was alive and then a mom snatched her out of the water

Jason getting his mask is what keeps this one better than part 9 for me. Favourite kill, Jason getting hit in the head with the axe. The damage to the mask remains throughout the rest of the films. (If you really get into the series you'll notice it's different in part 5 and why).

I remember the hype going to the movies to see this one and there was a big line of people waiting to see it but in retrospect it really is one of the weaker entries and I wasn’t crazy about Jason’s haircut (I thought he looked better in pt 2). Fortunately pt 4 is way better and makes up for this one. For what it’s worth this one had the best looking babes 😍😄

That "boot necklace" was a holder for a disposable lighter. The 1963 VW bug in the movie was a manual transmission. 2 people could have easily push started that car even with a dead battery. "Automatic Stick Shift" (VW's crossover into automatic) wasn't available in those cars until 1968.

Yeah, Freddy was fully formed from the beginning. The hat, the glove, the red and green striped sweater, and oh yeah, the burned face. Michael Myers found his trademark mask and outfit within the first 10 minutes of the movie. Despite variations in the masks between movies, the look remains constant. But Jason's trademark look and persona formed kind of organically over several movies. Nobody made the decision on the set of Friday the 13th part 3 that Jason would be wearing a hockey mask from now on and that would be his trademark look. It was just one of the prop masks they had on hand. And hell, they didn't even think there would be a "from now on" for this series. They honestly thought they were finishing up a trilogy.

If anybody wondered why the odd close ups keep happening... It's in the title. Friday the 13th 3-D. The early 80's had a spree of part 3s in a movie series being done in 3-D most notoriously Jaws 3-D.

On a side note: I always felt it was a little out of place and unusual that Jason rapes the survivor girl in a flashback, when it's teen sex that usually sets him of on a killing spree. I know they only hint at it and most people I know never catch on to that plot point when she talks about it... It's only ever brought up in this one movie and Jason never shows any interest in girls other then slaughtering them in colorful ways before or since.

Fun fact... the guy who played Jason in this film was an older stuntman at the time he played the character (58). He's still alive today at the ripe old age of 95! Edit: Should've mentioned that his name is Ted White, and he actually played Jason in pt.4, not pt.3. - the actor that portrayed Jason in this film was Richard Brooker, who sadly passed away years back

Part 3 ranks up there in my favorites. Probably 2, 3, and 6 are my favs. Part 3 just has that wonderful 80s cheese to it. The opening music cracks me up.
