One is worse in terms of total impact on humanity. The other is worse in terms of total impact on a family. A human’s brain will tell it that allowing a serial killer to remain free is worse, and their heart will tell it that the person abusing your kin is the greater sin. At least, that’s how I feel as a Dad. Given a choice could I choose humanity over my child? Even if i knew the killer was awful and would kill again and kills cruelly, and has an insatiable bloodlust, my heart and my mind would battle. I just can’t.
