The dad had a victim mentality and blamed people with money for how poor he was. He could’ve just gotten a steady job to provide food and shelter but his kids weren’t enough of a priority for that. I also wouldn’t forgive the dad for stealing the money.

I grew up & still apart of a heavily dysfunctional family. It’s easy to be blinded by the bad and hard times but it’s very important to stay keen to triumphant moments. No one’s perfect and happiness is only the definition you give it !

Why in the world were they having so many children when they didn't have a steady job to support themselves? The dad was an a**hole who could only pity himself and destroy his life and the mom couldn't see past the rose color tinted glasses of love and decide what was best for her and her children.

Because she didn't love him or the life they had, she was so desperate to escape her previous reality that she was always aiming higher and higher, a rich husband and a lavish lifestyle that could erase her past. In the end, she stopped running, instead of erasing her past, she accepted it, she decided to love her life and love herself instead of living in fear and shame of her family

Who knows? Most kids learn how to be husbands and wives from watching their parents and the majority of people I know today grew up in broken homes and have no idea what a good marriage is let alone how to be in one.
