Alongside Linn, and one or two other sublime audio companies, Naim has always been up there with the very best in HiFi components, for many years. Yes you pay quite a premium to own such high quality equipment, but in this case, Naims reputation for quality, makes purchasing their equipment an investment, and a worthy addition to any music lovers home.

+Peter Lewis A solid state amplifier which is not entirely stable within a minute or two of switch-on is either faulty or a poor design.

+mystique So if Naim recommends to leave the amplifier on 24/7 (for what ever reason) the conclusion is that Naim makes amplifiers with a faulty or a poor design.

sounds good! yes I think you are right, I also have a good PC and recently got the HRT head streamer for listening just with headphones, the difference is amazing and improves the sound quality of all my ripped and downloaded music. Its a start as I need to get a new set-up at some point...Im looking at the rega dac and Brio amp as seems very good value.

Agree. If you want a low price and good quality just buy a Bose Soundeck or something similar. Main offers a fra superior audio experience. I can listen to Naim all day. MUsic sounds effortless , rich and, well, musical. There is a unique lilt to the Naim sound that brings the best out in the music, and for some people (including myself) that is price well worth paying.

totally agrees with you. Just got myself a Naim Untilite and I'd say it's worth the money once again. Ardent fan of Naim and Linn fir the last 20 years!

Is it possible to connect UnityCute to a standard NAS and get the music from there?

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. But It is a PC, embedded WinXP I believe? And as for what I listen to, first click my username and see some of my kit (more to come) and second, I have demo'd Naim (and Linn) in my systems over the years - I have never been impressed, but admittedly not the current crop, more TDA1541 based Cd and ugly shoebox shaped amps, but they are not for me nor the cosseting by the UK HiFi press. But if it works for you thats great.

@feduplurker well I got a high end pc with all the stuff you mentioned plays great games and movies, but as a hii-fi? I'd like to see any PC compete with the likes of Naim, you obviously been listening to your low grade mp3 's for too long mate.

The Uniti is two and half grand, the Qute is 1500 quid, and the server is another 2 grand, a total of six grand for hardware that looks like a two shoeboxes and a grey slab. For a third the price we all can put together a Win7 based PC to include "noiseless" PSU, WiFi + all types of connectivity, 24/192 etc, and much more - Hi-Def graphics, Blu-Ray burner etc etc. I don't want anyone going out of buisiness or losing jobs, but they need to get real in the current economic climate...

Look deep into my eyes and obey my command - you must not take the audio press as gospel, you must abstain from reading certain publications One final point - I suspect your Spell check function is knackered.

"We can all put together a Win7 based system" - So does that mean it crashes every five minutes, takes ten minutes to power up and then another ten downloading updates before I can play some music? No thanks.

You will never understand my friend. Your comment is very superficial, since you did not take into account many things. I will only ask one question. Your PC will be needing an amplifier to expose its "Greatness" what are you going to use? a Logitech? :D

Overpriced & overrated , my Denon PMA 1510 int can dump on anything Naim do for up £2,500 , their stuff looks good , but every time I have heard it at exhibitions demoed by themselves (14-15 times) it has sounded harsh , unmusical & nothing like the real event it has
