My gf’s father has MG. Every year he waits until it’s a crisis and then must be admitted. We’re in the Chicago area and I’m trying to find someone who will do outpatient PLEX.

@@bushrash2888 I lost sight in one eye to Optic neuritis suddenly and had this done to wash out the antibodies my body was producing as other eye was affected too. I'm ok, diagnosed with MS.

Can you heat the blood to a heat that can kill diseases, cool it and resend it to the body and removing the plasma as well as you doing now included in the process

If the port isn't needed for some other reason, two IVs can be used in the arms.

I had it in the chest. They use anaesthesia, but it's a little uncomfortable when they feed the tube in, but not too bad. It's definitely worth being able to walk again. Modern medicine is a miracle

Does the insurance can cover this type of treatment? Another silly question how do they clean this machine ? 🫣

Specialised kits are available for these procedures which is used only once and then discarded after the procedure. The main machine is for operating different type of procedures like plasmapheresis, stem cell collection, removing or collecting platelets. So it’s not the machine in which blood goes directly, it’s the kit.
