6:33 About the markers on the turntable´s surface: Their influence is very important. If you have more of them on the sides of the object, it even a lot better. But then, you´d have a cylinder with markers on its inner surface, and you couldn´t shot fotos of the object anymore. That´s why, you need a cylinder made out of 3 segments, each segment having a very precise position on the turntable´s edge... And as the turntable turns, you can always take that one (out of those 3) segment, that obstructs you foto-shooting... But the turntable´s edge, as well as the cylinder-segments, have to have notches, so that you always place each segment at the exact same position, always perpendicular to the TuTa-surface (it doesn´t have to be perpendicular, but it has to be at the same angle it has benn at the previous turn of the TuTa, cause you make several turns, and the segments have to have the same position by every turn, refering to position and angle). With 3D-printing available, it´s an easy task... The problem you describe at 10:35 is why the positions and angles of those cylinder-segments have always to be the same.

I've done this in the past, even made a video on it years ago. Today I would just use Reality Scan and get the whole thing done on my phone.

I was thinking about what to do to acquire scanning capability without spending $1000 or more for a commercially made machine. Since I own aBambu X1-C, I can take advantage of making these excellent parts in an attempt to make my own scanner. I love having the ability to make things. I've been making things my entire life and having an excellent printer helps me continue this passion. Ausgezeichnet!

I'm surprised this works. The software's often get confused because of the changing angles the light hits the object. I learned a long time ago you should not move the object, but instead move the camera around the thing you're trying to "scan". Alternatively build a rig that moves all the light-sources with the part.

Das ist definitiv eine sehr interessante Geschichte! Hatte vor einiger Zeit mal nach Möglichkeiten geschaut ein Smartphone als Scanner zu nutzen... Hab die Idee allerdings schnell wieder verworfen, da sowohl die Apps als solche, aber auch die Ergebnisse sehr zu wünschen übrig ließen! Dein Scan sieht allerdings mehr als ordentlich aus. Insbesondere wenn ich einen Vergleich ziehe zum Creality Scanner der bei Auroratech im letzten Video gezeigt bzw getestet wurde... Mich würde interessieren was du für ein Smartphone und welche App du verwendest!? 😁 Und die Software für den PC selbstverständlich auch... 🤔😜 Mit anderen Worten: ja, ein Video zu dem Thema wäre echt top!!! 👍🙏👍 Hoffe übrigens das dein Problem mit dem Bambulab Studio Slicer (wo die Innenwände nach außen gedruckt wurden) behoben ist!? LG

@lizard5982 Smartphone war mein Samsung S8+, steht nun auch in der Beschreibung zum Video. Ebenso der Link zur App im PlayStore - "Camera Auto Shooter" - PC am Software ist Metashape, auch da hab ich den Link hinzugefügt. Ich nutze allerdings nicht die Neueste Version - diese wird sicherlich noch besser sein. Wenn Interesse besteht kann ich gerne ein Software Video machen, wobei 80% mehr oder weniger Schritt für Schritt abarbeiten sind, eventuell beim Ausrichten von zweiseitigen Scans oder beim entfernen des "Schrotts der nicht zum Teil gehört", damit nur das Teil übrig bleibt, gibt es vermutlich den ein oder anderen hilfreichen Tipp. Das Slicer Problem besteht leider immer noch, einiges lässt sich durch Neustarten des Slicer hin und wieder beheben. Zum Vase-Normal Mode "Problem" hab ich mir ein Profil für simplify3d gemacht, siehe Video. Dies unterstützt dies nämlich. Grüße Sandor - DM4DS

@@DM4DS mit der App und der Software werde am Wochenende direkt mal schauen! Hatte gehofft das du ein Android Smartphone benutzt, ist mein favorisiertes Betriebssystem... 😉 Mit BL Studio ist halt echt so eine Sache, da man, sobald der Bug auftritt, nicht ohne weiteres einen Schritt zurück gehen kann. Der Fehler bleibt selbst dann bestehen. Bin dazu übergegangen die automatische Sicherung im BS Studio zu nutzen. Dort kann man einstellen das alle paar Sekunden das Projekt gespeichert wird. Wenn der Bug dann auftritt, Slicer schließen und Neustart. Die Sicherung laden und man muss nicht sämtliche Einstellungen neu machen. Im Moment der einfachste Weg die Nerven zu schonen, glaube ich... 😁 LG

I really enjoy your content, but I’m disappointed you didn’t bring this video to a conclusion by showing us the microphone holder you made as a negative of the scanned form.

It is not done yet, there is a short message at the end that I make a holder - must do measurements in the car before I can do it. Will show it in a short or one of the next videos! @@DM4DS Hey Sandor. I watched it a couple of hours ago. Networking your machines to add compute is great, I had no idea you could do it with that kind of software. I used to do something similar with Modo (a 3D modeling animation package), to setup a mini render farm.
