For further clarification: In that 'YT Broke My Hair' video, I used KZfaq in the title as a metaphor for going further or doing more than I routinely would have, had I not been a KZfaq Vlogger. We all as Vloggers do it... Which understandably comes with the territory.

I hate that people felt the need to even make a response video to a video that wasn't about them. Especially a video that you were devestated and close to tears in. Hair is not just hair for a lot of women. If you don't care about your hair that's fine do you, but other people such as myself, love our hair and we do everything in our power to keep it healthy and retain our length so that it will grow longer. Some people are just negative and they will use every oppurtunity that they can to be negative know it alls.

I swear the root of their “offense” is jealousy. Does anyone else notice how people come down *hard* on naturals with long hair whenever they have a set back or do something they(the viewer) don’t like. They lack so much empathy when something bad happens. I see it happen to Naptural85, I’ve seen it happen to other natural hair bloggers with long hair. The jealous viewers come out of the woodwork and are vicious. But they try to hide behind “disagreeing” with them or find some other way to justify their behavior. Also you’re soo pretty. So you know how some people get when it comes to beautiful women

People don't realize how long it takes to grow hair & the time & process it takes. Hair only grows 6 inches a year on average so it will take years to get to the length that you want. People also don't realize how much money is spent for products & the effort required.

A metaphor or not, has made all of us at some point made a stupid decision, either bought a hair carr product that was expesive and didnt work, tried a style or bought a make up product or something, remember when every one was raving about using after shave as a primer? I’ve twisted my hair with ecostyler gel several times and did a twistout and nothing happened to my hair (I have 4b/c hair) so those ppl telling you that “everybody knows not to twist with gel” I’m not sure what they are talking about. Not everything works for everyone that’s all.

I have watched so many video responses to your video. Every time my heart breaks for you and what you went through. When i read the comments and people were saying "you tube didn't break her hair" i kept on telling myself shes talking about the fact that she started making KZfaq videos and did something out of the norm to please her viewers....and the ones who say "its just hair" well...all the products just cost money!!! and taking care of it just takes time!! Like most, within the first few minutes of watching your video I knew exactly what you meant. I think some people read the title of your video and ran with it vs. actually listening to what you said in the video. Not a big commenter, but I HAD to jump on and leave one commending you on the humor and grace you presented in this vid while still dropping knowledge all over the place! When people started doing reaction videos after that incident, and I read the comments on the video, I thought to myself that a lot of people are really slow and shallow. I seem to remember only one fellow male KZfaqr giving advice and sympathy. English language has depth, which is why there are different ways to say different things; we can use simple language to explain something a bit more complex. At the time, while I did think that the video was a bit dramatic, I completely understood the reason for the drama because I immediately thought about experiencing that much loss after six years. All the people saying it's just hair need to realize that different things hold different values to different people....what rocks one boat won't rock another. Hair is your thing - a passion, and a project. You have goals for it like you would anything else. If another person simply lies switching up thing by following routines like chopping, bleaching, chopping, dreadlocks, chopping...that's good for them. Great that they see their hair as a fun thing to experiment with. But also, nothing is wrong if you treat your hair like a baby you want to see grow up. Why can't both be respected? Loved this video - every point was well said. Much love to you from a silent follower!

Love this video Sis, and I completely appreciate the struggle! Years and years ago I put a curl in my pressed hair and I wore that curl for at least 5 years as per the trend I attempted to go from a curl to a relaxer. The damage done to my hair was Apocalyptic and my hair has never never fully recovered. I'm hoping now on my natural hair journey (3 x big chop mind you) maybe now I'm on the road to repairing and rebuilding my hair. I was one who scrolled across that video with a hard side eye, but then I started watching and listening to the entire video and I understood how big of an influence YT has been in my own life. You hit the nail on the head about some people not being able to have empathy for others, regardless of what they think about hair if you see another person being so real about how something has made them feel so bad and vulnerable you would think this would appeal to peoples human side to emphasize. I can't believe you have to explain that video! Makeup bloggers say this foundation or that broke them out ect ect. We go through ALOT of time money and energy to grow OUR hair so yes you was proud of all that hair! I cannot believe how mean and ignorant some people can be. Im so sorry for what happened to your hair i wanted to cry eith you when i wstched your honest and emotional video about what the gel had done to your hair. Im new on my natural hair journey so im overdosing at the moment on you tube tutorials and i can say you are one of my favorites! I love your honesty, dont waste your beautiful energy explaining your pure heart on people whom do not deserve your time. Keep going and thank you for saving me from thid mistake. Girl you dont have to explain yourself to these people. Even if you did come out and blame someone else it doesn't matter you were understandably emotional we all get in our feelings. You said in that video that you didnt know why you decided to use gel that you never did that before you said it was stupid what more do people want? I felt your pain girl. Anybody who says its just hair doesnt' have hair like you had and lost it (although you still have beautiful hair I do see the setback). I am attached to my hair also and when I had to have it cut in the shop because of damage years ago I cried in there and they had to call my sister to get me I was dramatic too! big deal. People can kick rocks in these comment sections with their judgments telling somebody how they should respond to something.

I'm late but I just saw this video and saw the original one a week ago. Because of another KZfaqr recommended you and this video I subbed you. I saw some of those comments ur referring to especially that "this is another example of not taking responsibility". there were comments after near the end of the thread including mine that said u did say you did take responsibility and said they must feel really stupid. Ppl that dumb and callous need to stay off KZfaq period. My dear keep doing what you do and don't listen to naysayers. I'm behind you💯 percent. Great video❤

Some people are so simple...really just outright stupid and overly critical of others’ mishaps 🤦🏾‍♀️ . Love your videos and all the tips you give us for the natural hair journey. How shallow they are to unsub after you had one issue in the 6 years you’ve been natural. Forever sub here and thnku for sharing REAL videos. one of your other subs posted they’ve never heard that “everyone knows not to use gel for protective styling on 4 type hair....” I too have never heard of this, especially with the natural community’s love of the eco styler gel... many youtubers I’ve seen have referenced it at some point, or some other gel that is, and I’ve used it on my collar bone length twist outs with no problem....alas...I’ll be on the look out for your future hair videos ✌️

Right after I saw your video, my hair turned on me doing an overnight henna/indigo treatment, my hair matted up and I remember you saying remain cool. TFS

Girl good on you! The same girls saying your being dramatic wish they had hair to care about. I’ve also twisted my hair with gel and it’s been fine! The Title Was MisLeading At The Time! However, after watching the video, she explains what actually happened! Some of the remarks were overboard and rude! Now, hope you all can move on! Hey we’ve all used a lot of products that we’ve seen on KZfaq, some work and some don’t. I know it well. Love your videos and I’ve learned a lot from that video. I don’t like gels on my hair, usually drying but I still try ones that say moisturizing. 😂

I have been trying to grow my hair for 3 yrs & have been having allot of setbacks, i love your long beautiful hair 🚫 no more twist with gel 😋...

Even with your setback most people would wish they could grow what you have left.... or even what you have cut off. Keep your focus on your goal and don't worry what others say. Some people cannot wait to see you make a mistake so they can jump all over you, but if they had the chance they would take your place in a heart beat ( eye roll). Complainers only prove you are doing something right! I love your videos!

I knew that the title was crazy when I first saw it but I watched and I could understand that you meant that because of you feeling obligated to look amazing for KZfaq it made you do something that you would never do normally and sadly that decision damaged, or broke, your hair. So yeah KZfaq broke your hair. I see that.
