YZ450 Buggy Custom Aluminum Oil & Fuel Tank

You may not have shown it but don't forget about adding a drain to the oil tank so that way you don't have to remove it each time you want to do an oil service.

If you save different jobs in sheetcam it will help you save on wasted metal. For instance. You have a 4x4 table. So set up your job as 4x4, load let’s say a 1/4” plate, cut whatever parts you’re currently cutting, then save that job as 1/4” steel sheet. If you take that sheet off the table to cut something else then put it back on, you open the 1/4” sheet job and all of your previous cuts are there. You can now position your new parts as close as possible to your previously cut parts… saving you metal. Hope this makes sense and sorry for writing a novel. Love your videos.

You need to have the bottom of the oil tank be higher than the feed for the oil on the engine. Also some baffles in the oil tank would be helpful

Build with a purpose. Don't worry about making it a all in one type of vehicle. Make one that's good for going fast on level ground then make one that's good at going fast on crazy terrain.

You might have a need to hide some shipping containers for the inventory to make more room for all the new tools, you'll be stacking them soon too

Looks great! For aluminum I typically use a standard collet body with a #6 cup and about 20cfh for flow. Considering you have variable frequency, I would run 120hz. For balance I would run 75% electrode negative. I would do all of this with 2% ceriated tungsten and 4043 filler. Aluminum is pretty easy to work with once you figure it out. Stainless is much more difficult in my opinion.

Just a thought when building aluminum tanks, always use a pressure gage so you don't plow them up or pop out a plug just saying from experience
