In this video, we continue the work on the 1986 Nissan 300ZX. We install the new water pump and remove the intake manifold to take a look at the injectors.

LOL it’s honestly a joy seeing how you and Brad vibe together. You can clearly tell you two are homies, and the old head energy in this video is hilarious with how the conversations go😂 really enjoying this series and I’m a big z31 fan so I’m excited to keep up with it!!

I’m saving 2 20 year sitting 87 z31. Ironically our cars seem to be in similar condition. Have you gave it a chance to start yet? It’s a interesting feeling working on something that’s been sitting for so long

Hey make sure ya'll drain your oil again if you havn't already, some water may have gotten into the oil pan from the front cover crank seal if yall didnt realize. Oh and check out harbor freight for their pittsburgh tool set, its like a 300 piece set for like 250 or something like that, most people hate on pittsburgh but for the price I havnt had any issues, plus it would have made taking that intake off really easy, they have allen bits and star bits that attach to 1/4" and 3/8" drive. And plenty of other good tools in the mobile box

Thanks man! I checked out the set. I have everything in that set in my large toolbox at my house. But, the car is not at either of our houses. So, I have to anticipate what I might need for what we plan to do. I usually miss something. ☹️

@@damir6536 I would not say that this is worth it for a first car. This car has been in Brad's family for decades. It just my two cents, but an inline 4 cylinder from Japan is what I would recommend especially if you want to work on it yourself.

@damir6536 honestly, snag one if you see a deal, dont make it your main car. So far ive spent about 500, mainly on toolsets, and ive gotten it running, and now im nust chasing random issues that previous owners caused (they broke a bunch of connectors, and instead of replacing them, they striped the wire and taped it to the connection

We may consider it if we can't get it running. But, we are just trying to replace the damaged stuff and do enough maintenance to get it running.

Waterhouse under intake manifold hard to fine must be oem replace it it will fail

We are not wasting as much time as we hoped to. We only to get to work on it a few hours here and there. Pulling the motor has never been a thought. We'll see how/if it runs once we get everything sorted. We are having fun. 😉
