Maya Hadad it’s because he didn’t even sing that song drew seeley did because zack voice wasn’t able to hit the notes so they used most of drew voice for the first movies and then zack did that last 2 movies but that’s why drew plays Troy in the high school musical tour

In all seriousness, Zac is a serious actor. Most actors don't get attached to characters they play or songs/lines they have. On top of that, it's been over a decade since HSM. When the HSM trilogy ended I'm sure he never listened to any of the songs ever again, or not that often. It's a part of our childhood that we enjoyed and it gives us a nostalgic feeling that we like, so we're more likely to go back and listen to the songs that the actors from the movies. Most of the HSM cast hasn't had as much film work as Zac has, so they're more likely to remember the songs and lines than he is. :)

Finally someone with some common sense here. Nostalgia is one thing but you can't expect every single actor to cuddle up with their decades old characters and roles like a blanket. It's their job, and their work. He's probably grateful for everything High School Musical has given him, but to think that he goes around constantly thinking about it is just insane.

The fuck.. a bunch of media outlets are saying stuff like "He can't remember the name of one of his own songs, yikes!!". I mean.. that may possibly be because the movie's almost 10 years old now and odds are he doesn't listen to his own voice on a day-day basis. Not to mention that there's 3 movies full of songs, and that he managed to know the song was from High School Musical in about 2 seconds of hearing it. People look for the dumbest things to call news. Pretty sure there's worse / more important things in this world than a dumb skewed story about Zac Efron's memory.
