My favorite bit about this is that at first, Zac's laughter while trying to say his request seemed like it was because of the absurdity of the situation. But upon rewatch, you realize it's because he's about to get Brennan to fuck himself and he's trying *so hard* to keep his shit together to avoid being caught. It's amazing.

Emily told him the episode before she was getting fragmentation charges and detonators at full price, and I think he just thought she was roleplaying her explosive-happy character. I don't think the charges were even meant for a plinth they couldn't have possibly known about. The wording on the item description specifically mentioned structures. I am pretty sure that was meant for an escape plan.

Damn, both examples I could think of were already said. Operation Slippery Puppet is the winner because of how elaborate the setup was combined with how specific random conditions had to align in combat without Brennan catching on for it to work. And "Nat 20 and ghosts are real" forced him to rewrite the back half of the campaign on the fly. This was #3 for sure though lol

Genuinely think some of Gorgug's combat lines are super underappreciated. "Thems the breaks," here and the terrifying "Sup, Nerd," he did at Bizz in season 1 are some of my favorite Dimension 20 lines.

No but like had zac just asked to go into a rage without the rolplay, brennan would have probably asked him roll deception at disadvantage or a wisdom check to see if gorgug could have gotten enough out of the thrawl to even make that kind of deception. By roleplaying it that gorgug was genuinely asking, they got to bypass the extra steps while assuring that Brennan tool the maximum amount of psychic damage as possible

Its such a weird proud moment to have your players fuck your shit up. I had a player about to hit me with a lot of damage but I had the parry ability that lets you reflect damage back at them and it would’ve taken them out because they were a wizard but another PC used one of their abilities to reflect the damage back at me. It was one of the greatest things i’d ever seen since I started playing

@@edbsmartie "can't be charmed or frightened while raging" Nowhere does it state that if you were already charmed or frightened prior to raging that those effects would be nullified. Putting on a fire retardant suit while on fire does not suddenly stop the fire. But I definitely much prefer Brennan's leniency with it and allowing it to nullify the existing condition.

@war32567ify Cannot be charmed or feared is speaking of the effects. It's not worded as "it can't activate on you" it's that those specific effects do not apply to you while raged. This is perfect rules as written. As for roleplay, it is MINDLESS RAGE, why would a previous charm apply? Your mind is dulled as you rage. The charm wouldn't apply.

This reminds me of my Psi Warrior Fighter, DM made an enemy boss really good at scaring and charming everyone, forcing us to fight ourselves and not get close to them. The look on his face when I told him I was gonna attack someone then pivoted to attack the boss was hilarious and a favorite memory of mime.
