I totally relate to your description of running a race that unlocked a new version of yourself! It only takes one race to prove to yourself what you’re capable of. That’s why it’s so important to never take any opportunity to race for granted!

My times were similar in my senior year in high school, 1967-68. I ran mainly the mile in track. One of the more interesting races for me was in a dual meet with our rival, Burlingame,e high school. My coach told me to begin my kick in the back stretch of the third lap. So I was setting the pace and as we came to 800 meters, I said to him, "go ahead": and let him go by me. Then I passed him on the backstretch of the third lap, as my coach told me, broke contact with him and held on to win the race. In the league finals I ran against him and another rival. I came in second and ran my fastest time, 4:23, but it was a strange race to me at the time. We ran very slow for the first half of the race, but then picked up the pace on the third lap and the final lap was 59 seconds.

I’m a freshman and I have a meet this Saturday and I ran a 11:10 for a 2 mile last meet and I want to know if I should get spikes because I don’t have no spikes and if I do get spikes should I wear them this race

ran in my first meet today. got 1st in my 3200 and 2nd by a few INCHES in my 1600. also ran in a 4x400 and my group got second 😊🙃

lol I am still in high school for Hudson falls and went to a innovational and ran the 1 mile got some where 5:30-6:00mins In my 2 mile it came down to who wanted frist the most we had 200 meters left and he start sprinting so I decided I was go to allow him to pass me I got 1st place he got 2 place if I didn't have my teammates cheering me on I don't think I would have had him I lost at the in 50 meters he was only 2-3 sec beside me so I decided to keep pushing as fast possible and won it

This is important Zach. I have a question that would be super awesome if you answered. Where do you get your motivation to run daily? I am a high school sophomore and love to run... at practice. When I’m alone on weekends, I find it very hard to get motivated to actually go out and run.
