Now that Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver has officially arrived on Netflix, fans of Zack Snyder's daring sci-fi epic will likely have several questions about where the franchise is headed. Especially considering the fact that a threequel has not been announced-yet. Ahead of the film's premiere, I had the privilege of taking part in Netflix's junket for the film, and I came in loaded with questions for the writer-director with only five minutes to get my answers. Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver picks up on the heels of Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire, with Kora (Sofia Boutella) and Gunnar (Michiel Huisman) preparing the people of Veldt to go up against their oppressors from the Motherworld. Kora fully believes that she rid the galaxy of Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) following their epic battle in the final act of Rebel Moon, but that belief is quickly shattered when the newly-mended Noble arrives on Veldt looking for blood. While Part Two does play upon similar themes and beats from the first entry in the franchise, the final act is a far more definitive end for a handful of characters who escaped death the first time.
In addition to pressing Snyder for answers about Noble's fate in the extended cut of Part Two, I also asked him about continuing Rebel Moon with a third installment, whether or not he plans to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his Dawn of the Dead adaptation this year, and the status of his western King Arthur epic that he's been working on for a number of years.

I didn't tear up when Gunnar died as I felt his death played well for Kora's arch. It made a lot of sense and felt like it was fated to go that route by the way their story's were intermingled. But Nemesis dying legit had me tearing up. The way the little kid was toying with her during the farm work, and the fact that he tried to save her during the battle recked me. Out of all the deaths that could have been they took out one of the most badass stoic characters in the film. I'll be here for Rebel Moon 3, but more importantly, I need the extended true cut of these films over the "censored" versions. Everything was on point with the film for me, two thumbs way up!

I think most of them are just lying to themselves if they genuinely liked it. Others simply have extreme loyalty to the brand of Snyder and just cannot parse anything he does with objectivity.

@@OverLorD768 c'mon man, you know it's not the same. The Snyder fans are toxic bullies who prop up Snyder as some cinematic god who can do no wrong. Nolan and Denis' fanbase are NOTHING like the cult-like group that spread hate against any and everything that doesn't like Snyder. Plus, those are two acclaimed, Oscar winning directors. Snyder is literally the furthest thing from that.

@@doc8013 I take it that you never had a conversation with the raging Villeneuve fanboy about Dune 2 then. Probably being one of them and believing that this slog of a movie is a "cinematic masterpiece", when in reality it's the Dune version of Got Seasons 5-6. Or with people who claim that Nolan is the greatest director ever who shaped the cinema itself (and for the record, I love both Nolan and DV, and I love most of their movies, but you people sure love to overdramatise and go on a holy crusade when someone disagrees with you). Also, I like it how you are pushing the "spreading hate against anyone who doesn't like Snyder" narrative when we have to deal on daily basis with people who act like Snyder and his movies are the cinematic equivalent of Antichrist. And surely no Snyder hater ever made the lame joke about "Father of the year" regarding Autumn's suicide. Right...? And finally, who gives a damn about Oscars nowadays? I like Snyder not because he won crappy awards that discredited themselves years ago, but because he's a geniunely likable guy, and I enjoy both his movies AND his style. And yet, according to the people who then cry about "evil toxic Snyder cultist", liking Zack's movie or his style is a hate crime. Just as not liking Cune: Part 2. You guys never fail to entertain me with your hypocrisy, I'll give you that.

@@OverLorD768 One can say the same about you. One can say you are only here to simp for Rebel Moon and Snyder. How do you know what his actual motivations are? How do you know what he feels? Any proof of this? The movie is bad. A lot of people think it's bad. That's how he sees it and you immediately think he dislikes it because he's a hater - talk about irony and the hypocrisy that's coming off you in droves. It didn't really strike you that maybe he dislikes because it's actually bad. Which it is.
